Waterfront RV Port on Bolivar Peninsula. Water, sewer, and electric (20-30-50 amp panel) Covered RV spot with a screen porch. Property is fenced and dogs are welcome. The screened has a dining table with chairs, and also stores some patio chairs to use on the property. They are really great to sit on the dock! There is also a charcoal grill and a crab trap for you to use. (You need a fishing license and bait. Chicken bones works great!)
Fishing is great here... the canals have been dredged and folks are catching right of the back of their lots. Community fishing area is on the end of both Van Sant and Mabry, Mabry has a boat ramp. These you cast right off a drop to the intracoastal. Beach Access via community gate at end of street. Combination for those will be shared in arrival instructions.
Spot is a residential lot... It is 60 x 130. Canal City is a quiet residential area. The back side fronts on the water. You will probably see more seagulls and purple martins than people.
We have weekly discounts. Message me and I can go over them because the Hipcamp platform makes them difficult. It works out to approximately 7 nights for the price of 5.
Be prepared: Bolivar has mosquitoes. This is the coast. If it has rained they can be really bad. The county sprays on a regular rotation but it can be bad. They tend to swarm when you pull in. Spray helps. We also send recommendations for what sprays work best for us in the arrival instructions. We do not offer refunds for mosquitoes. We have never found them unmanageable, and the screen porch keeps them almost entirely away.
We are east of Rollover Pass. Easiest to arrive through Winnie and south on 124. Unless you are coming from Galveston or southeast Houston it is probably shorter. The ferry is fun (dolphins and such) but the waits can be long. Also: Do not bring loose propane tanks or gasoline cans on the ferry, they will send you away. (Propane on RV is fine, but that is all they allow)

The property is fully fenced. The entrance gate is 16' wide. The yard is all St. Augustine grass. Very clean and maintained. Pets are welcome.
This property is tailored for RVs, 5th Wheels, Travel Trailers, and Motorhomes that have black and grey tanks and can hold their waste water (shower, toilet, and washing) for dumping into the on-site water treatment unit. You must have your own shower, sinks, and toilet on your rig with holding tanks for black and grey water and the ability to dump into the dump location on the property. The property is not designed for tent campers.
The electrical and sewage hookups are on the left side of the property. Motorhomes (Class A, Pushers, and Class C RVs can pull directly into the space with hookups in the usual location. 5th wheels, travel trailers, and campers that are pulled by a vehicle will need to back into the space as there is no room in the front of the property to drive in, unhook your vehicle, and drive the vehicle off the slab. When you back in, the hookups will be on the the opposite side of your connections. Depending upon your travel trailer and where you place your travel trailer on the slab, you may need electrical or sewage extensions to reach the connections.
The vast majority of the renters who use the property used a 5th wheel, travel trailer or camper that is pulled by a vehicle.
The pictures of the property show a line of granite blocks between the property and the beach. The granite forms a seawall (called the revetment wall) that was installed by the Corp of Engineers and prevents beach erosion. Depending on the tides, sometimes the Gulf waters hit the wall and there is very little beach area in front of the property. Sometimes, there is a large beach area. If the water is against the seawall and you’re looking for beach area, there are several beach entrances along Canal Drive within driving and walking distance.

This is a 8000 sq ft privately owned, ocean-side lot. Located on a barrier island in Sargent, TX, the site offers a neighborhood atmosphere, with a secluded, unobstructed beach view. There is an approximately 30x30 gravel pad and long driveway. The property is beach front, but dune area/beach may not be accessible by foot (depends on tidal flow, rainfall, Gulf storms etc.). Full beach access is about 1/4 mile down the road.
This is a subdivision--there is a neighbor on our right side.
This is an RV lot only. This property suits smaller to midsize RVs and most wheeled campers (but no ground tents--there is too much ground wildlife for safety, though elevated, vehicle-mounted tents are fine).
The property is still in development. We currently have electricity (110v, 30, 50 amp), water, but NO SEWER OR SEPTIC. You must bring your own toilet facilities with you and take the waste away. NOTE: Public Toilet facilities and trash available 1.5 miles away.
We do provide a picnic table, but it changes often--we lose them in storms, lol. You'll also have a clothes line and a canopy as wind/storms permit.
If you're an introvert, dislike traffic or just like breathing room, you'll love quiet, crowd-free, Sargent beach. It's such a peaceful getaway!

This gorgeous, island property is vulnerable to the extreme weather conditions on the Texas Gulf Coast. It's a dynamic property, shifting and changing, depending on the weather--we try our best to maintain this property in a timely manner, but we can't control this Mother Nature factor! There may be times we cannot put up the shade canopy due to high winds, other aspects of the property may have shifted, there may not be a beach due to high tides, you may not be able to walk to the beach from the property, etc. Please ask questions and we'll communicate what's available at your booking time. Our strict cancellation policy encourages good communication at time of booking.
We do not grant refunds for rain, tidal flow, or any other natural element beyond our control. Keep in mind HipCamp may offer weather insurance for you.

The property is fully fenced. The entrance gate is 16' wide. The yard is all St. Augustine grass. Very clean and maintained. Pets are welcome.
This property is tailored for RVs, 5th Wheels, Travel Trailers, and Motorhomes that have black and grey tanks and can hold their waste water (shower, toilet, and washing) for dumping into the on-site water treatment unit. You must have your own shower, sinks, and toilet on your rig with holding tanks for black and grey water and the ability to dump into the dump location on the property. The property is not designed for tent campers.
The electrical and sewage hookups are on the left side of the property. Motorhomes (Class A, Pushers, and Class C RVs can pull directly into the space with hookups in the usual location. 5th wheels, travel trailers, and campers that are pulled by a vehicle will need to back into the space as there is no room in the front of the property to drive in, unhook your vehicle, and drive the vehicle off the slab. When you back in, the hookups will be on the the opposite side of your connections. Depending upon your travel trailer and where you place your travel trailer on the slab, you may need electrical or sewage extensions to reach the connections.
The vast majority of the renters who use the property used a 5th wheel, travel trailer or camper that is pulled by a vehicle.
The pictures of the property show a line of granite blocks between the property and the beach. The granite forms a seawall (called the revetment wall) that was installed by the Corp of Engineers and prevents beach erosion. Depending on the tides, sometimes the Gulf waters hit the wall and there is very little beach area in front of the property. Sometimes, there is a large beach area. If the water is against the seawall and you’re looking for beach area, there are several beach entrances along Canal Drive within driving and walking distance.

This is a 8000 sq ft privately owned, ocean-side lot. Located on a barrier island in Sargent, TX, the site offers a neighborhood atmosphere, with a secluded, unobstructed beach view. There is an approximately 30x30 gravel pad and long driveway. The property is beach front, but dune area/beach may not be accessible by foot (depends on tidal flow, rainfall, Gulf storms etc.). Full beach access is about 1/4 mile down the road.
This is a subdivision--there is a neighbor on our right side.
This is an RV lot only. This property suits smaller to midsize RVs and most wheeled campers (but no ground tents--there is too much ground wildlife for safety, though elevated, vehicle-mounted tents are fine).
The property is still in development. We currently have electricity (110v, 30, 50 amp), water, but NO SEWER OR SEPTIC. You must bring your own toilet facilities with you and take the waste away. NOTE: Public Toilet facilities and trash available 1.5 miles away.
We do provide a picnic table, but it changes often--we lose them in storms, lol. You'll also have a clothes line and a canopy as wind/storms permit.
If you're an introvert, dislike traffic or just like breathing room, you'll love quiet, crowd-free, Sargent beach. It's such a peaceful getaway!

It's a dynamic property, shifting and changing, depending on the weather--we try our best to maintain this property in a timely manner, but we can't control this Mother Nature factor! There may be times we cannot put up the shade canopy due to high winds, other aspects of the property may have shifted, there may not be a beach due to high tides, you may not be able to walk to the beach from the property, etc. Please ask questions and we'll communicate what's available at your booking time. Totally will be staying here again! Jim is great with his communication to include the mosquito density. All but one day was breezy so they were only an issue toward sundown.
The lot is mowed regularly and all the hook-ups worked as they should.
We will booking again in the near future!

Stella Mare is a very nice location, very clean or organized! Staff are very nice and welcoming.
One thing to note is that there isn't tons to offer, but they do keep their pool open year around, they have a pool heater which is cool.
They have a bar but it wasn't open the whole time we stood there.
I hope they work on offering more stuff for us RV folks :)

Place is very well maintained. Clean and with good hookups. The fence was great for our dogs so they could run and play. A good kind of isolated.
James provided us with good info and things to take into account. He made us aware of the mosquitos, which is something to plan for and know when and where be outside. The weather while we were at the camp was chilly so we were able to enjoy mornings and late evenings without worrying too much about them. If you are visiting plan ahead - shelter, permethrin, wondercide, citronella and protection for your dogs and yourself.
We will certainly be coming back.

Edge of the Waters was perfect for what we needed. We really enjoyed the screen porch and the property was fenced for my dogs and also made us feel more secure being behind a fence. Came on Labor Day weekend, so I was expecting it to be crowded. It wasn’t. Not like Galveston or Corpus. Nice, peaceful, seaside town. This property has one side on the intercoastal waterway, the other is the beach. Great for fishing or beach combing. The road in is sand/gravel/shells. It has some potholes from the weather, but 2wd can make it. Just go slow. Property was well kept - clean and mowed. I know the description says the host will be there upon arrival, but they weren’t. But, everything was self evident. Host did respond quickly to my message. There is water, 20/30/50 electric, and sewer. There is a trash bin. The pads are pretty wide, enough room to have your lawn chairs/table etc. next to RV. The pads, though, are pretty close to each other. They are very flat. Bring your mosquito and ant repellent. There’s a small Texaco station on the mainland for gas and such. There’s a BBQ stand about a couple miles inland, and the largest restaurant, The Crab Trap, about 8 miles inland. If you are familiar with driving on the sand and have a capable vehicle, you can drive right out there and go quite a ways. A lot or two over is a mooring park that boats will pull up to rest. There’s not any shade so if this is something you desire, be sure to prepare accordingly. There’s lots of frogs at night, but they aren’t loud. Located between the Gulf of Mexico and Galveston Bay, this park is the last undeveloped area on Galveston Island and includes a top-rated gulf coast beach, dunes, wetlands, coastal prairie, lagoon, and salt marshes. Several miles of trails offer opportunities for hiking, biking, and paddling for all ability levels. Fishing is also popular, with anglers casting their line in the bay or surf. The park is also home to a wide range of wildlife, including more than 300 species of birds. Families will enjoy the excellent ranger-led programs, including star parties, paddling tours, and art programs, and can spend the night at one of several campgrounds that offer sites for tents, RVs, and lodges.

- Best for RVs: The Bay Side Campground offers 20 water and electric sites with a communal pavilion and shared fire rings.
- Best for beach access: The Beach Side Campground has 36 sites right by the Gulf of Mexico.
- Best for families and groups: Two ADA-accessible lodges offer kitchens, bathrooms, air conditioning, heat, washers, and dryers.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Campsites can be reserved up to five months in advance. Make a reservation as soon as you know your dates, especially for weekends during the peak season of March to October.
- If your plans are flexible and you want to beat the crowds, try to visit during the week, during non-holiday periods, or during late fall or winter. The park is open year-round.
- If visiting as part of a group, consider booking the cabins, which can be reserved up to 12 months in advance.
When to go
Summer is the most popular season at Galveston Island State Park, even though it can get quite hot and crowded. Visit during the spring and fall migration seasons to see a wide variety of birds. Peak season rental rates apply from March to October. Be sure to check the weather before confirming plans during hurricane season, from June to November, as the park closes for tropical storms and hurricanes. The nature center is open on weekends only.
Know before you go
- There’s very little shade in the park, so bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Mosquito repellent and hiking boots are also a good idea.
- Bring binoculars for spotting birds and wildlife, and make use of the bird blinds and two observation towers.
- Fishing licenses are not required to fish from shore, and fishing equipment rentals are available.
- Open containers and public consumption of alcohol are prohibited in the park.
- The park has no lifeguards.
- Bring your own kayak or canoe, as rentals are not available.

Well kept, quite site. We enjoyed so much we extended our stay. Water and electric hookups. Bathroom and showers available. Walking distance from beach, dumpsters and dump station available, along with an ice vending machine.
My only negative experience is the bathrooms. It is surface level clean-
the sinks need cleaned along the top edge and the water pressure of hand sinks is almost non existent- but make up for it in showers 🤣

Great breeze in the spring time and not too far from the adorable downtown Galveston area which was totally rebuilt and improved after hurricane Ike. Not too much to do at the campground unless you want to attempt to fly kires or just hang out by the water. It does offer small shade structures which is nice.

I stopped by here on a day trip and I found the undeveloped beach to be a refreshing break from the car-packed beaches that surround most of the island. In addition to the oceanfront beaches, there are also picnic areas, showers, and lots of other activities inland, especially for kayaks and canoes in the inlets and marshes on the backside of the park.
