❤️ Glacier Park HipCamp 🏕️

23 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents40 acres · Coram, MT
Come enjoy peace and quiet in the beautiful meadows near our home. We are located on 40 acres that include forested trails, a large pond, two small ponds, a creek, and frequent wildlife as well as spectacular stargazing at night. All sites have a campfire ring and picnic table. We provide a unique eco-camping experience in contrast to the crowded campground/RV park, and we are only 6 miles away from the entrance to Glacier National Park! Please let us know if you have multiple tents or vehicles as some sites may be a better choice for you than others. No hookups are provided – dry camping only. Parking for larger vehicles/trailers is available at sites 1-6 - an open, flat meadow with the pond on the other side of the road. Tents are welcome in all sites; although, we recommend the back meadow sites (7 and up) for more secluded tent campers (especially in July) as it has less traffic and more privacy. Sites 7-20 (the back meadow sites) have parking for vehicles 26' or less in total length. All sites have access to vault toilets, and all sites are back-in sites with partial shade. Because of the proximity to Glacier National Park and the main HWY, traffic noise and train noise can be heard at the campsites. Visitors are ask to keep their speed to a minimum to reduce dust on the dirt on Greens Road. We are just a short bike ride away (two minutes by car) from attractions such as the Whiskey Barn, The Paul Bunyan Bar & grill, Glacier Hi-Line Ropes Course, and the Amazing Fun Center, maze, and mini golf. It is also easy access to the Gateway to Glacier Bike path. E-bike rentals are across the street from us. Closest Gas station is the Cenex in Coram (1.5 mi away). Closest public (free) landfill dump is 2.2 miles toward Columbia Falls at 9626 Us HWY 2 E. Near Paul Bunyan Bar and Grill (which is also a good restaurant near us). Look for the gated entry and small sign marking Flathead Landfill. Closest grocery is in Hungry Horse at Canyon Foods Grocery (3.5 miles away). There is a laundromat next to this grocery store. Closest dump and water fill up for a vehicle with a holding tank is Mikes Conoco at 1645 9th st W in Columbia Falls (8.9 mi away). Closest town with wifi, cafes, restaurants, urgent care and larger grocery stores is Columbia Falls (9 miles away). We sell solar shower bags, sun screen, card games, cream soda, frisbees, bug spray, coffee, firewood, and more at Sam and Molly's mercantile by our house in the middle of our property. The Mooseshroom

15 sites · Lodging, Tents9 acres · Coram, MT
The Mooseshroom is an awesome camping community that is just 7 miles from the west side of Glacier National Park. Community fire pits near the Commons are a short walk from whichever tent spot guests are assigned. The Commons also houses the bathrooms and inside/outside kitchen areas. There is plenty of seating, hammocks and picnic tables for guests to use as well. We also have two yurts available for booking on our property. The Mooseshroom is a licensed business that is limited to hosting 18 guests per night. Guests should expect a quiet, peaceful camping experience with plenty of room to enjoy their surroundings. ***This property is adjacent Highway 2 and there is a fair amount of road noise. There's also a train that's fairly close. The noise kinda comes with the territory, guests are also 10 minutes from the west entrance to the park. The noise does tend to subside considerably at night, but for those bothered by this type of noise, you might consider an alternate location. Most guests are truly fine with it.

Desert Mountain Oasis

3 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Coram, MT
Forested camping with mountain views and only seven miles from Glacier National Park. We currently have three sites in total on our property. One site intended for RVs (with water and 30 amp hook ups) and the other two sites are intended for tent camping or place to park a more modest size camper van (no hook ups). All three sites are spaced apart from each other with trees buffering between. We generally require campers to have their own toilet, however from June 1 thru September 4 we will have a porta potty onsite for campers to use and share. We have immediate access to National Forest land so you can recreate from your campsite if you desire. There is a community fire pit with chairs and picnic table and BBQ when requested. There is WiFi access within 100 feet of the cabin, but not the sites. Great star gazing as well! My wife Jesse and I live on the property with our two dogs Powder and Kintla. We live here full time and spend all of our days off recreating in the surrounding mountains and Glacier National Park. Happy to help answer any questions or offer insights as you might need! Hope you enjoy our oasis.

Wildiron Bigfork

We live on 10 acres of mixed forest and field. In the summer we have an active blacksmithing school and flower farm here. The idea of a sustainable, self reliant lifestyle has always been part of our life and passing it down to others is a joy for us. We sustainably manage our food and forest to be the best stewards we can for our environment and our neighbors. Our Cabin and structures were built primarily of materials that were recycled or milled on site. which makes them warm and inviting. The Cabin is located close to our shop which houses an active blacksmithing school in the summer months where the rest of the structures are separate and in an area tucked away on the edge of the woods.Jeffrey and Betsy work to make your stay as welcoming as possible. We maintain a small orchard of fruit trees, a garden which feeds us year round and a small flower farm on the property. Avid skiers, bikers, paddlers and hikers, offering the property for others to enjoy was a conscious decision made when planning all of our infrastructure. Come and enjoy all the beautiful Flathead Valley has to offer.

Aspen Hollow

2 sites · RVs3 acres · Martin City, MT
This rolling wooded property in a "hollow" was once a large herb farm serving the surrounding area. The foundation of the original homestead still sits in the trees in one corner of the property! Now it is a quiet, secluded, yet convenient recreational spot serving as a home base for visitors to Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, Whitefish Mountain, and other natural wonders in the area. Brad and Sarah Harris, your hosts, frequent the property, as they prepare the land to build custom log cabins for rent. You’re also likely to meet Drake, the beloved camp dog, greeting you when you arrive. Learn more about this land: Camp on this secluded, park-like slice of heaven just 7 miles outside Glacier National Park. This private recreation land is nestled away from the main road, and surrounded by mature trees and peekaboo mountain views. Level, easily-accessible sites are spaced among the aspens and lodgepole pines. It's rare to find a place this secluded so close to the park. The location is perfect as your home base while exploring Glacier National Park and the surrounding area. The 3-acre partially-wooded property is great for relaxing after your day, walking dogs, playing yard games, and enjoying the views. This location was once a large herb farm, so you may discover oregano and other familiar herbs now growing wild throughout the area. Despite being secluded, these campsites are just 11 miles from Columbia Falls, where you can stock up on groceries or check out local restaurants and bars. The property is also nearby Glacier Distilling Company along with zip lines and other family attractions. Sites are level grass pads, with electric hookups (50, 30, and 20 amp) and water. There is no septic service, but there are several nearby public dump stations. There is decent cell signal for most carriers, and wifi in the property. There is a gravel road to the sites from the main road. Please note this property is not suitable for large groups or loud parties; we ask that visitors please respect the neighbors and other guests who come to enjoy the peace and serenity of the Montana wilderness. We will be onsite periodically as we prep the land to build cabins. **We offer a 15% discount to all Police, Firefighters, and Active Duty Military Personnel** Please send us a message for more information and a discount code.

The best camping near Flathead Lake State Park - Finley Point Unit guide

Overview

About

Finley Point is located on the southern tip of Flathead Lake in the midst of a mature conifer forest. Quite an appropriate location, since Finley Point is most certainly the mature option within Flathead Lake State Park. If each park on the lake were a sibling, Finley Point would be the big brother who’s somehow already saving for retirement. Dense conifer forest means plenty of seclusion, and with 16 RV campsites, why sleep on the hard ground? There’s excellent trout and whitefish here, and even some golfing and museums nearby if the 400 square feet of Flathead Lake doesn’t suffice. With its quieter disposition, Finley Point is the perfect place for some lakeside peace and relaxation, and the view of endless mountain layers encircling the water never fails to impress.

Notable campgrounds

  • RV Campsites with Electricity: Accommodating rigs up to 40 feet, these sites offer the comforts of home in the wild.
  • Tent-Only Campsites: Secluded spots for a traditional camping experience, close to nature's heartbeat.
  • Boat Camping Slips: Unique waterside camping, perfect for boaters seeking adventure on Flathead Lake.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  • Book early, especially for peak summer months, to secure your ideal campsite.
  • Consider mid-week stays for better availability and a quieter experience.
  • Keep an eye on cancellations for last-minute opportunities.
  • Explore nearby camping options for additional choices if Finley Point is fully booked.

When to go

The best time to visit Finley Point at Flathead Lake State Park is from April through October, when the park is open and fully operational. Mid-May to September offers water access for boating and fishing. For a serene visit, aim for shoulder seasons when the crowds thin out.

Know before you go

  • Check current lake levels and dock availability before planning boating activities.
  • Remember to store food properly as the area is home to wildlife, including bears.
  • All activities outside the park on tribal land require a tribal recreation permit.
  • Accessibility is a priority, with ADA accessible sites available for reservation.
  • Non-resident visitors should be prepared to pay a day-use entrance fee.
