Discover the majestic Royal Arches in Yosemite National Park.

Considered one of the all-time classic climbs of Yosemite Valley, the Royal Arches make up the easiest long-route climb in Yosemite National Park. That's not to say that it is an easy feat to accomplish—with over 1,600 feet of climbing trails on this one wall, the Royal Arches are sure to test your endurance. Not here for the climb? This unique rock formation can still stun any visitor. Visible from multiple nearby trails, the onion-like layers of rock emerge from the valley floor and rise 1400 feet up the southern side of the North Dome.
The optimal time to visit the Royal Arches is during the spring, when the waterfalls are at their most vibrant and the weather is favorable for climbing and sightseeing. Avoid weekends to escape the crowds, and note that the Royal Arch Cascade typically dries up by June, so plan accordingly for the full experience.
