The Bus Stop campground offers a well-rounded experience for campers looking for both convenience and a touch of solitude. With clean facilities, hot showers, and excellent views, it strikes a balance between comfort and the rugged charm of the Terlingua area. Many visitors appreciated the easy access to Big Bend parks and the friendly, helpful hosts. While the campground is generally quiet and well-maintained, some campers noted that certain sites could be less private or challenging for certain vehicles due to the terrain.

Scenic area
The stay at the bus stop camp ground was perfect being between terlingua and Lajitas. The sites don’t have any shade but not a problem if you have an awning or a canopy. Just make sure to take some screw in stakes for your tent/canopy. Restrooms/ showers were very clean. Was able to explore the ground and get some hiking in for a beautiful view of the whole campground.

Nice clean, but less than StatePark

Campsites were well-kept, clean, spacious, quiet, and mostly level. The campsites had water with fairly low pressure and a fire pit. The bathrooms were clean, but kind of middle of the road in that the floors were simple concrete, each stall opened to the outside and had a small, half-inch crack you could peek through, but no one would. The toilet seat I used rocked back and forth, but was perfectly clean. I didn't see a dump station. The one negative I would give is that the dusty gravel road leading to the campsite was long and took around 15 minutes to get down in our RV because of all the holes, bumps, etc. If you compare it to the average state or national park campground, it was significantly less quality which means I'd give it a 2 or 3 star...3 star for the campsite, but minus one more star due to the dirt road making the trip longer than expected, no camp host, no information, etc.

It was a long and bumpy ride to our site, but worth every bounce! Beautifully tended, thoughtfully laid out plan with everything we needed and then some. The showers were big enough for two, which was convenient, and the Wi-Fi was clear and strong the entire time. Firewood placed at the site was an added bonus. Was more than satisfied!

Sweet spot
Awesome property. I only stayed for a night and rolled in pretty late, but it was very clean and easy enough to navigate. The bathrooms are the nicest I’ve ever seen at a campground in a state/national park or Hipcamp.
