We left Brooklyn in 2010 in search of a more farmy life. We found it in Greene County, 2.5 hours north of NYC, on the west bank of the Hudson River. We run a small farm and do our best to live off what we can grow or produce. Our farmhouse and barn complex have been around since the 1700's, and gone through many different incarnations. Currently we live in the farmhouse, rent out the renovated barn apartment, and use the huge dairy barn for storage. Learn more about this land: Come back to the farm... Search for eggs in hay-filled boxes. Pick raspberries for breakfast pancakes. Feed peppermints to the ponies. Take riding lesson on our sweet Shetland pony.Hold the milk bottle for eager baby lambs. Pick salad for dinner. We are offering “farm camp”, mornings from 9 -11 am. Help with animal care, gardening and do farm crafts and cooking. Grill local foods in a private yard with a view of ponies, sheep, and pastures. Just 2.5 hours north of NYCCome stay on a farm! For an extra fee ($100/day) we offer “farm camp”, from 9 -11 am. Kids (with or without parents) do farm chores. Help with animal care, gardening, barn clean up, and do farm crafts and cooking. This includes wool craft, bunny time, and riding the pony. Kids become experts on the farm! They love farm camp and we are usually booked with return visitors, but love meeting new families! Just 2.5 hours north of NYC

With kids
We had an incredible time on Larissa's farm. My brother's family and I stayed for a weekend, and our 4 and 7 year-old attended farm camp with Larissa both days. Larissa was excellent with the kids, who both quickly trusted her and connected with the animals. The 7 year old responded and engaged a bit better than the younger one, but they were still both psyched to feed the animals, make farm-related crafts, and ride ponies (I mean, so was I!). Meanwhile, the adults watched the kids thrive, made crafts on our own, and genuinely relaxed in the mornings. Afternoons we visited nearby towns, and nights we cooked, sat by the fire, and ate smores. Exactly what we were hoping for! The house itself is charming and had everything we needed. Larissa responded quickly when we had a question, and gave us great recommendations for family friendly hikes and restaurants. As we were leaving, my kiddo asked when we'd be back. My answer was, "as soon as possible!"

The farm and rental were so comfortable and relaxing. There were some of the sweetest animals there that we fell in love with. Larissa was absolutely amazing. My son looked forward to seeing her everyday and insisted on helping her with the animals. It was a perfect weekend.

Magical little nook of the world...
Group trip
This was an amazing experience. Larissa is so kind and knowledgeable. My kids learned so much. The animals are so interesting and funny. There is a chicken there that is hilarious, Cutie, ....who knew how much you could really enjoy a chicken’s company? We are looking forward to going back sometime soon. It’s such a special little place 🤗.

Relaxing, fun, and charming stay!
Relaxing, fun, charming stay! Our toddler loved the animals and trails, and Larissa was such an accommodating host. When showing us around the farm, she followed our toddlers lead and adjusted what we were doing to fit whatever was peaking her interest. We learned a lot, but really enjoyed the peace and serenity around us. Larissa made excellent recommendations for food and other activities, too.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our 2-night stay at the Honey Hollow Farmstay. Larissa met us the first morning to show us around the farm and we met the lovely dog, Blue. There's a lot of hikes and walks around and the nights in spent cooking are beautiful too!
