A great experience from the second we pulled into the drive. Lisa came right out and introduced herself. She showed us our camping options, then went to give us a tour of the farm and introduced us to all her animals. The wood was dry, the bathroom was clean, and the farm/animal sounds we're a welcome change from the fast paced life we live in.

Nice spot, fun animals, amazing pig
20 ft campervan · Group trip
Overall we had a wonderful stay! A beautiful, level spot wonderful animals, wood in a big fire pit, very nice owners with introduction to the animals. However we were disappointed that the horse ride we had arranged did not happen and there was poor communication. We went out of our way to stay here precisely to ride horses for my daughter’s birthday. So it was a great disappointment.

This is the real deal on a farm. They have a designated area for you to Camp out between the house and the Barn. You will get your fire going by the pasture with the horses, goats, sheep's and Dexter. Dexter is the pony who sleeps by you! This weekend they were getting a calf and we we're lucky enough to see it arriving and celebrating with the host little bbq to celebrate "Holly cow" that's the name of the cow btw! You are going to a farm not to campground keep that in mind! Thanks for having us, my little ones loved the experience!

Firstly, the host was excellent. She was very accommodating and even offered the kids extra pony rides the night before we left. Whatever we needed it was clear that they were willing to provide. Now the bad. I know not all farms are pretty, but this place was a dump. There was junk nearly everywhere you looked. We wouldn't let the kids wander off over concerns for their safety. Also at some point a large dog was roaming around the campsite. This dog looked to have mange, or at least not well taken care of. We waited for it to leave before we left the camper. I wouldn't discourage anyone else from staying here. It just wasn't what we hoped for.

Our first Hipcamp visit!
This was our first Hip camp visit, so we were a little unsure on how it all worked, but we lucked out by staying at Double J Ranch. It was a great time staying here and we had a wonderful time camping and exploring the surrounding area. Our hosts were very friendly and provided us a nice spot to set up our tents, where we had a great view of the sunset each night. We were also introduced to all of the animals who call Double J home. Our personal favorite was Random, the barn cat, who kept us company around the fire and would greet us in the morning. Lisa was super friendly and provided us with directions to a beautiful access point to the lake. I would recommend staying here if you are planning on visiting the area.
