The ranch was the site of a sawmill in the early 1900s when the old Rio Grande Southern and Galloping Goose Railroads ran through the property along the Dolores River. All that’s left now is a little shack in the middle of the meadow and some remnants of the railroad tracks in the river.
Beautiful camp sites and very accommodating host! And great trail into the town of Rico right from the campsite. Not too far from telluride right along the river!
We really enjoyed staying at the ranch !
We were literally right on the rivers edge in a beautiful and secluded setting. Jaq was very helpful and attentive. Supplied wood every night and even a smores pack for the little one !
We will definitely be back when we are in the area next time
Great location, right on the river, and able to take the 1.5 mile trail to town. Jacqui and Ken were both extremely helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend and stay again.
