Holcomb Valley is a Star Host
Star Hosts are highly rated, responsive, and committed to providing incredible experiences.
Holcomb Valley Ranch invites you to kick back and relax on our private, 400+ acre ranch in the San Bernardino Mountains. Centered around a 100+ acre meadow, filled with horses in summer months and surrounded by thousands of acres of mountainous National Forest. Just 15 minutes from Big Bear Lake - a large recreational, fresh-water lake for summer swimming, boating, skiing, fishing and other super fun water activities. The Ranch feels remote and private. Yet is only four miles to the town of Big Bear with shopping and restaurants. Also in close proximity to incredible rock climbing at the Pinnacles, seemingly endless hiking and biking and some pretty epic off-roading 4x4 trails. Each campsite is approximately one acre, and generously-distanced from neighboring campers. Amenities include its own fire ring with grilling grate and picnic table(s). The campsites are both cozy enough for 2 or spacious enough for large groups and can easily accommodate a mix of RVs, camper vans and tents. From June to October the 100+ area open meadow is filled with horses grazing and galloping about (please don't pet or feed!) A four-seasons destination, the Ranch has year-round experiences with warm summers and snowy winters. An excellent basecamp, within close proximity to the lake, ski slopes, Pinnacles, hiking/biking and off-roading trails. After a day filled with adventure or ultimate relaxation, be sure to enjoy the breath-taking sunsets over the meadow. The evenings blanket guests with a sea of stars. Toast up some s’mores and warm up some hot-coco over a beautiful, crackling campfire. Remember the s’mores and always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles. There are large trash bins by the entrance. We look forward to hosting you at the Ranch! Please note: OHV’s are allowed. They count as one of the allowed vehicles per campsite and must adhere to the speed limit (10mph) and remain on established camp roads while on the property. They may not be driven from 8pm to 8am. It is strictly forbidden to ride your vehicles through the forest, meadow or off any established roads on or off property. Please research which of the surrounding forestry roads allow for your vehicle type to be driven on.  Campsites on the west side of the meadow (F, G & H sites) are partially accessed by a forestry road that does not allow dirt bikes. Horses: The horses which may be roaming the meadow during your stay are not property of Holcomb Valley Ranch. When horses are present, guests and their pets are prohibited from entering the meadow. Please do not approach, interact, feed or touch the horses. This is for your safety and the safety of the horses. Do, however, take lots of photos! They make a perfect backdrop:)Holcomb Valley Ranch invites you to kick back and relax on our private, 400+ acre ranch in the San Bernardino Mountains. We have a base rate that reserves the campsite and accommodates two adult guests. Each additional guest is $25/ person per night. Kids under 10 years old, dogs, horses and other family pets stay for free! ACCESS AND DIRECTIONS: Please pay close attention to the driving directions we provide. Your GPS may suggest you take Van Dusen Canyon Road or Rim of the World Drive, however, we highly suggest you take Polique Canyon. It is the most direct. The Ranch is about 15 minutes or 3.5 miles up Polique Canyon, on the left. Polique Canyon is a forestry road. An AWD or 4x4 vehicle is recommended. However, it is passable by both large RVs, towed trailers and small sedans. Just take it slow and watch out for fallen rocks and divots.  CHECK-IN: Between 2PM - 8PM. CELL RECEPTION: Verizon gets pretty good cell reception at the Ranch. Other cell carries are pretty spotty. WATER: We have several fresh spring water spigots throughout the Ranch with potable water..  FIRES: Campfires are permitted at the Ranch unless the Forest Service institutes a fire ban in the surrounding national forest or high winds are expected. Firewood is available for purchase on-site (Cash Only). Just ask your camp host for some bundles when you arrive. We had to cancel our trip due to unforeseen circumstances but the staff at Holcomb valley ranch were so helpful and easy to get in touch with. We really appreciate how quickly they answered our questions and took care of our needs. Cannot wait to camp there in Spring!

We loved it!
Tent
Had an incredible stay at this campsite! The views were absolutely stunning, and the peace and privacy made it the perfect getaway. Star gazing was unforgettable—we even spotted a few shooting stars! Ed was a fantastic host, super accommodating and made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, scenic escape!

Overpriced; but off-leash!
Tent
Pros: 1. Ed the camp host was communicative and accommodating. 2. Well behaved dogs welcome off-leash! 3. Nice meadow Cons: I had high expectations for a $100 a night site; seclusion/peace and quiet being my only amenities needed. Unfortunately it was confirmed by camp host that loud music/partying is permitted until 10pm. I had listen to loud thumping music as I was trying to relax by my campfire. I was disappointed.

Dream campsite
Tent
Possibly our favorite campsite ever. We stayed right on the meadow for one night and wished we could have stayed longer... the land is so beautiful and well-maintained, and we felt very safe with Ed as our camp host (he was so great!). Flushable toilets, warm showers, but still completely immersed in wilderness. We can't wait to come back. This place is a hidden gem - let's keep it that way. 😍

Nice
Tent
Really nice campground. Enjoyed our stay tent camping. It didn’t feel dispersed. We could see the people next to us. But the sites are about 100’ apart so it wasn’t like we were crowded. A little pricey for a campground, but it’s private land, so I understand.
