Edenhope Farms is nestled on 6 acres and is a sanctuary for rescued and unique animals. We have a Zebu bull, which are the oldest recorded bovine in history, dating back to the Bible. We have goats and peacocks, chickens, a potbellied pig, rescued squirrels, and rescued ducks. Soon to come.... Sheep!!! My property used to be the disposal site for the CocaCola bottling Company. Go on a scavenger hunt and find old bottles. Relax around the fire pit and listen to owls, wild geese, bull frogs and the Quack Pack. Lounge on the spacious deck overlooking all the farm animals or take a dip in the swimming pool. At night grill on the BBQ or have an oyster roast. We do have an indoor toilet for you to use and an outdoor shower. Go for a walk through the woods, do yoga, head to Hunting Island beach which is 10 miles or drive 3 miles to historic downtown Beaufort. We are also close to Parris Island and many other historical sites. While here you can enjoy historical tours of Beaufort County’s earliest years of the Santa Helena colony in the mid 1600’s, the revolutionary war period, the pre-civil war and plantation time period and the antebellum, reconstruction history up to the Civil Rights visits of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Historic Penn Center. The Lowcountry is great for water sports, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, sailing, hiking and canoeing. Each season offers an opportunity to participate in fishing, crabbing, shrimping or digging for oysters in local waters. Our area is a favorite of cyclist groups, the long, flat, rural, scenic, roads offer pleasant riding experiences for cyclist of all ability levels. There are bike lanes on many of the major roads. Other recreational activities in our area are geocaching, horseback riding, tennis, golf, hiking, beach volleyball, beachcombing, and birdwatching. There are a few special events throughout the year, Gullah Festival-May, Water Festival-July, Shrimp Festival-October, Beaufort Food Truck Festival-October, Soft Shell Crab Festival-April, Pat Conroy Festival-November, Heritage Days Festival-November, Night on the Town-December. There’s something for everyone. COME VISIT!!!

All while keeping it classy. At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cabins, installing solar, composting, planting, and building toilets that are better for our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature. Ani and I are big believers in being mindful and respectful of our environment wherever reasonable. So, we are incorporating both alternative and municipal utilities as they can fit into our homestead design and limited budget. Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" small living can feel. We all have personal priorities and those will vary greatly, and that's okay. But no person should be so self-absorbed that we have completely shut out the importance of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our fellowman. After all, if we don't have that, what do we have? To be completely transparent, though, the creatives in us also would like it if we inspired onlookers to possibly look at their own space and life a little bit differently. We've personally found it to be so fulfilling to distinguish real desires and needs from the ones we've been groomed to pursue, and then work to make them a reality. We've found it energizing to witness our fellowmen and women pursuing a dream. We'd like to be a stimulating memory along any person's journey. Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, and that they can appreciate some of our old-fashioned ways. That, as our paths cross, we won't be held to a business-first standard that we have worked hard to remove ourselves from. We realize everyone has a right to be themselves, but our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm.

We tried to plan for every comfort you could want or need, from wifi and a smart TV, to a cute bathroom, Keurig and an Air Fryer. We hope you love it as much as we do. Please note, it is tight quarters, especially for more than two people and large framed people. For this reason, we only allow two guests. We live on a busy street, but the backyard is peaceful and serene. The airstream is parked next to our creek, where waterfowl abound. Only one vehicle allowed.

The Sanctuary at Edisto river is amazing! I originally booked just a few days during Christmas, but I loved it so much that I extended my stay through New Years. Dustin was very welcoming and engaging, while also giving us space to enjoy the property. My favorite parts were: - The beautiful outdoor shower with a rain shower head. - Access to FREE laundry in an inviting and well designed bath house. - The Gazebo was fabulous! Loved relaxing on the sectional couch while watching TV and enjoying the beautiful view of the river and large patio. I would 100% go back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique glamping experience.

Fortunate for us—we were not in a rush to leave and the space was available through late morning to get to know Will & Mo (and their brand new puppy). This is a great spot to stop while you are traveling through.

Will is a good host. The RV sites are perfect for larger RVs. Easy in and out. Level sites and perfect hook ups. We have stayed several times and will be back again!

I really enjoyed staying at Dustin’s way more than at a noisy State Park. It was so peaceful there near the river. I saw many shooting stars. His bathroom was very clean.

Loved this stay, it's a very cute homestead with a peaceful small town vibe. Nice amenities available like a bathhouse with an outdoor shower and a sauna. We enjoyed having the electricity and the water hookup and the space was a pull through. The stars there are beautiful too at night! Thanks Curt.

Great place to camp with the family. Totally private the night we were there while still being very close to town for a few restaurants, coffee, etc. The kids loved seeing all the chickens and pigs and the host Marissa was super friendly. With easy access to power to boot, we would definitely stay again and will recommend this hipcamp to friends in NC.

Our stay at Heirloom Hamlet was nothing short of picturesque, morning fog coming up through the trees and an incredible old oak at the center. Our timing did not allow us to fully enjoy the property but that tiny bit we saw will definitely have us coming back. The dog has decided that this is her new favorite place and did not want to leave. The Small Bathhouse has some really nice touches that really showcase how much Curt and his family value hosting as well as creating a very eco-concious space that reminds us of the importance of all doing our part. One thing we do know- this may not be right for some folks and that’s ok, but definitely a place that we will visit again.

1 night at Edisto River Luxury RV Resort

Spending the night in our small RV at Dustin’s Edisto River RV resort was way beyond our expectations. There are only two sites on the property so privacy and seclusion are excellent. The restrooms facilities are VERY nice and are shared between the two sites. It was very cold during our stay (21 F) so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy the screened in cabana with sofa and tv during our stay but did get to enjoy cozying up to the fire pit in the Adirondack chairs. Can’t say enough good things, will be returning soon for a longer stay and use the kayaks to paddle on the Edisto. Our beagle loved the trail down to the river.

We love Heirloom Hamlet and return often. A really nice little spot, close to I-95 for camping with or without hookups. The non-hookup spot is especially private. Firewood is supplied, and the public pinecone fire pit is a real treat! Curt is a very welcoming host!

My group of three (and pups) loved camping out at Capt. John’s place! It was such a peaceful location with breathtaking views. It’s the perfect location to take in the Carolina sunrise and sunset. The bathhouse was a great amenity to have. Capt. John was a standup host who was quick to respond to any and all questions. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful place to take in coastal nature. We will certainly be back!

We made an impromptu stop on our way south and really lucked out- found a very comfortable spot. Pull through site, flat area with electricity! It was raining, so we didn’t want to unhook.. it worked out perfectly for us. The host Will was super helpful and responsive- I would definitely stay again!

With five miles of sandy beach and a saltwater lagoon hemmed in by lush maritime forest and ocean views—South Carolina’s most visited state park has no shortage of postcard-worthy views. Climb to the top of Hunting Island Lighthouse for the most impressive panorama, then hop aboard the ferry to St. Phillips Island or enjoy a dolphin-watching cruise along the coast. Hikers and bikers have more than eight miles of trails to explore, before watching the sunset from the Marsh Boardwalk. The state campground has RV sites with electric and water hookups, as well as walk-in tent sites just a stroll from the beach.

Tips for snagging a campsite

You can reserve one of 120 campsites at Hunting Island State Campground via the South Carolina State Parks website. Campsite reservations require a minimum 2-night stay.
Online reservations open 13 months in advance; same-day reservations must be made directly through the park.
Campsites can book up fast, especially those closest to the beach. Book a minimum of three months in advance to avoid disappointment.

When to go

Hunting Island is South Carolina’s most popular state park, and with more than 1 million annual visitors, it can get busy, especially in summer. It’s warm enough to swim along the coast from May to mid-October, and summer is also the time to spot loggerhead turtles as they nest and hatch along the beach. Boat cruises and dolphin-watching tours run year-round.

Know before you go

Hunting Island State Park is set along the South Carolina coast, about 90 miles southwest of Charleston (less than a 2-hour drive away).
There is an admission fee for the state park, and camping fees also apply. There is a separate fee to visit the lighthouse.
Facilities include a visitor center, park store, boat ramp, fishing pier, picnic shelters, and restrooms. Wifi is available at the visitor center, campground, and shops. The closest large grocery store is located on Lady’s Island, about a 30-minute drive away.
You can bring your own boat and watercraft to Hunting Island; a South Carolina fishing license is required for fishing. Swimming is permitted at your own risk—there is no lifeguard patrol.

Hunting Island Campground

So many great views specially watching the morning sunrise. Constant breeze always going throughout the day, pet friendly just a wonderful experience overall. I would recommend renting spot 24.

Pack bug spray and sunscreen. Camping grounds were damaged from hurricane last year, so call and check before planning visit.
