Our home was built by Mr. J. L. and Mrs. Gladys Keys in the 1970's. Mrs. Gladys used to work for my Grandmother at the local ladies dress shop. She and her husband often brought us fresh vegetables they raised on their "little piece of heaven." They had no children and all these years later, their idea of heaven became ours to take care of now. We are so blessed here at Payne Lane Farms.
You can safely camp in your travel trailer minutes off of I-20 on our wooded, rural lot minutes from town, convenience stores, food, and even dump stations.
The front orchard provides a refuge of shade and privacy while also allowing you to see everything around you. Rayville, Louisiana has great history and heritage and some fun artifacts to explore if you have an adventurous spirit. Good people and family owned businesses if services are needed while enroute-traveling.

Pull thru the front by turning to right of the mail box and not using the driveway! Maybe a little off road, but this is the country and it won’t hurt to just drive thru the yard sometimes.
Fresh eggs for sale $3.50 dozen and maybe some fresh vegetables at $3.00 per pound, but ask us as we don't push them. Canning pantry does have inventory for easy meals.

Located about 15 minutes from downtown Natchitoches on a quiet street that parallels the bayou Bourbeaux. Giant ancient oaks tower over the property. There are old pecan trees and lots and lots of flat green grass. You can put your tent or rv/trailer/camper/car/boat/atv basically anywhere you’d like. There’s a central fire pit in the grassy area and a propane one on the porch.
We have hammocks and giant connect 4, jenga, tic tac toe and cornhole. There’s also an unheated seasonal above ground pool you can use with a waiver.
Tents: There is no outhouse but for an extra charge we can provide a porta potty and potty tent as well as a water pump for water. Breakfast is included in the price.
RVs: we prefer you be self contained but if you need electric you can park on our driveway and use the outlet on the side of the house. We can fill you up with water from the hose if needed. Breakfast is included at the bed and breakfast!
Lodging: this is also a full service bed and breakfast.
We are the PERFECT spot to host family reunions. Families can camp and use the bed and breakfast for the weekend with plenty of space for everyone!
We also host small weddings!
It’s quiet. Birds are always chirping. You can watch the beautiful sunrise each morning from the rocking chairs on the old farmhouse porch. Have s’mores and watch the stars at night. Explore Natchitoches and the many nearby lakes during the day.

Come enjoy beautiful Lake Bistineau! We are located in a cove with access to the main channel. We have a boat launch on the property for guests to use. The dock is off limits, but you are welcome to fish from the shoreline or bring your own boat/kayak/canoe to launch from our boat launch. From about end of July - February, they drain the lake and you will not be able to launch a boat with a vehicle. You can still get access to the water with a canoe or kayak by walking but the boat launch will not be usable. Lake Bistineau has a Salvania problem, so during March - June, the water is usually pretty clear, good for fishing, swimming and boating. Mid-June and July, there could be enough salvania to make fishing by the shore and swimming not good. During this time, we recommend you have some way to reach deeper water by boat/canoe/kayak/pirouge to enjoy better fishing and swimming. You will see examples of the salvania in the picutres posted.

The Yoga Barn is a great camping site! The provided firewood and fire pit were lovely. The composting toilet and heated shower were pleasant surprises, very well-maintained and provisioned.
Arrival directions were a bit tricky arriving in the dark but we were able to figure it out.

The yoga barn camping site was perfect for me. I was traveling through, camping in my car with my dog, and we just needed a quiet, grassy, peaceful, dark at night, place to stay where we didn't have to listen to people's TVs or music in their RVs or their generators. I loved it at Jan's place and highly recommend it if you love peace and quiet with your camping!!

Host Jen was quick to reply to my concerns. She offered a resolution that, though it would have cost me quite a bit more, would have helped me out with a detail I missed in the listing. When that resolution turned out to be unavailable at the last minute, Jen helpfully reminded me that it was my mistake in the first place and honored the original charge with no further inconvenience to the host. I wasn’t able to use the reservation or be refunded, however intend to book these accommodations again when my attention to detail improves! (Thanks Jen for the good advice!) Even as a self-described new host with a recently purchased and expensive property, she is very committed to justice and it’s always so refreshing to meet someone who keeps us on our toes! Immaculate mowed lawn area perfect for a tent. Bucolic setting on a small farm. No picnic tables but I used my camping table and it was fine. I did see a fire ring. Bugs disappeared after sunset and temps dropped. Refreshing and relaxing overnight stay with wifi and a shower.

I enjoyed my stay at Williams. I had the place to myself for the night. It was very nice to allow my dog to run free off the leash. The summer heat in September was still in the 90s, but the outside shower came in clutch to cool off and refresh. It was the first time my dog saw a horse! I think shes mesmerized. Only downside would be the bugs. Make sure you bring some spray. I didn't realize how bad I got chewed on until a few days later. There is a train that passes by so be aware of that for anyone that's trying to completely get away from city life.

Don't use google maps to find the place. Use the mail box numbers. The best thing about this place is the feeling of security. Just across the street is a very nice neighborhood and if you keep walking you get to a huge cross on IH20. The hosts were very nice and accommodating.

2 nights at Bayou Choo Choo and Bayou Views
Bayou ChooChoo is such a unique stay! It’s in the heart of monroe, but also directly on Bayou Desiard. The dock is perfect for relaxing and fishing. Jen is thoughtful with the special details of the stay, and really makes you feel at home. The caboose is cozy, and has everything you need. I definitely plan to be back.

What an awesome place. Small, comfortable, woodsy; an actual farm! Hosts are wonderful and accommodating. I wish I was returning that way so I could stay again.

The camping area is very large and very secluded. It is mowed grass surrounded by old pecan trees. It is next to a river, but with my bad knees I didn't venture to the top of the dike. Breston invited me in for seafood gumbo and cornbread. I had a great chat with him. I also met his father. I gave him some money for the meal, but I had no problem with that. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys southern hospitality.

Weekend Trip to Bayou Choo Choo and Bayou Views
A last minute trip turned into an amazing adventure! Bayou Choo Choo was a wonderful experience. The experience starts when you round the curve and see the red caboose on the banks of the bayou. Climbing aboard transports you back to childhood. The decorations and details will melt your heart and make you chuckle in the same breath. The small space is laid out well and it feels bigger than it really is. Jen has put a lot of thought into the layout uses the small space well. There is a keurig, microwave and a fridge with freezer. The bathroom is small, but I am a big guy and had no issues. The shower feels bigger than it is. Jen was available to help answer questions and even provided some restaurant recommendations.
Although we can to watch baseball, we found our way to the Chennault museums, did some shopping and walked along the bayou. Jen was gracious and kind. We reached out to book a place to stay and feel like we made a friend.

Loved the peaceful and beautiful land we camped on at Jan’s! I was fortunate enough to catch a yoga class which was refreshing and fun. We went to Lincoln preserve to hike but got caught in the pouring rain. I would recommend this camp site.
