Close enough to Natural Bridge that it’s not a terrible drive, but far enough away to be able to enjoy a peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle of the city life and tourists. Weekend Trip to The Kilns @ The Red River Gorge

Just returned from a long weekend at the Kilns and already want to go back. Kim and Scott are amazing hosts for your Hipcamp experience. The property is easily accessed while still feeling like you are far from everything. We had a beautiful spot back along the tree line with a great mix of shade and sun for our solar. Scott greeted us on arrival and couldn’t have been more friendly. He shared some local knowledge of some good restaurants and activities, and even gave us a Kilns sticker for our camper. We felt at home right away and he graciously brought us a load of firewood for the evening. We had 2 neighbors for the weekend, but the sites are spaced far enough apart that we hardly knew they were there. It really felt like our own private camp. The outhouses were very clean and well stocked which is always appreciated while primitive camping. Just such a gorgeous place for a relaxing getaway beyond the usual campgrounds. It’s a great basecamp for exploring RRG and the DBBB We HIGHLY recommend!

Weekend Trip to The LAAAAND (just you & 50 acres)

Everything about my stay was fantastic! Thank you to the hosts for making this great place available. I’ll definitely be back when I’m passing through again. Access was super easy with my 24ft AWD Class C RV, which made arriving stress-free. The spot is perfectly located—so close to amazing Red River Gorge hiking. The view from the cliff is absolutely stunning, and at night the sounds of crickets and tree frogs created the perfect peaceful backdrop. I even got a natural wake-up call from distant roosters, but thankfully not too early. Overall, such a wonderful stay and highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

This was our second time at The Bar and as usual, we loved it. Quite and peaceful (with a few exceptions of ATV noise, but no big deal). Only suggestions would be to remove the junk that on site and trim back or cut down brush/trees that are starting to block the views.

As a person who lives in the city you often times forget what a get away in the woods will do to you and your mental health. I am so happy I booked with Aaron not only was he an amazing host that provided so many amenities, his little cabin in the woods definitely gave us the recharge we needed. Our remote 375 acres part farm and part natural woodland nestled up to Daniel Boone Forest is ideal for hikers and nature lovers. There are several hiking trails onsite and plenty of woods to explore. ATVs or side by sides are welcome to be used on the main gravel roads and some designated areas of our property. There is plenty of wildlife but NO hunting is allowed. Some of our designated tent sites do have firepits and/or picnic tables. Our trek in sites do not have those options. Pets are welcome for $10 per pet/per booking and they do need to be leashed/under control at all times. This is an extra so please be sure to add that if you plan to bring your pet. Please pick up after them. We are a short driving distance from West Liberty, Cave Run Lake, Grayson Lake, Carter Caves, Morehead, Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. We are approximately 20 minutes from the nearest store so you'll want to come prepared. We are located in West Liberty (Morgan County). There are 2 centrally located bathhouses with toilet, shower and sink and a hose for potable water. We have firewood for sale for $20 per stay and is an extra option when booking(use what you need during your stay and it is centrally located near bath houses) you can bring your own and you are welcome to gather from the surrounding area but please do not cut down any living trees/limbs.
