Discover the charm of Green Gables Heritage Place.
A straw hat, red-haired braids and a pinafore define Canada’s most loved fictional character, Anne of Green Gables. Meet the head-strong orphan and re-live her youthful escapades and mishaps within the memory-filled rooms of her home – Green Gables – where images from the blockbuster 1908 novel blend with the real life experiences of local author Lucy Maud Montgomery, who drew inspiration from the idyllic farmstead and its red woodland pathways. All Parks Canada consultations and formal engagement on management plans are suspended until further notice.
The ideal time to visit Green Gables Heritage Place is from May to October, when the site is open daily from 9am to 5pm. The summer months offer the warmest weather and full access to all the site's offerings, while the fall brings a stunning display of autumn colours. Winter visits are less ideal due to colder temperatures and limited operations.
