Get stoked to do some unforgettable camping with dinosaurs!
No, not your gramps. Makoshika is the home of some awesome badlands. That’s rock-talk for stunning rock formations that show off their enormous layers of sediment and are the dream come true of any geologist. If you want some alone time with the rocks, there’s always backcountry camping here at the sprawling 11,000 acre state park. Makoshika is also home to a whole lotta T-Rex and Triceratops fossils. So do as the archaeologists do, and sit back with a cold one to enjoy the view.
