Lots of things to do and see, including the Luray Caverns, small mom and pop restaurants as well as fine dining. Nestled at the foot of the Massanutten Mountain, 360 degrees of beautiful nature. You will love this peaceful nature escape! Our brown cabin sleeps 4 guests, 1 queen bed, 2 full size beds. There is a refrigerator, a grill, a couch, board games, A/C, a screened porch, and basic utensils to cook over the fire or grill. It is a flat, spacious, green lot with access to the river. Bring your own life vests, kayaks, paddle boards, tubes, fishing poles to have a great time! Lantern flies everywhere
The inside was a fragrance bomb, and as I got sicker even sleeping on porch, I realized it’s likely that intense to cover mildew/mold smells. They have a sign up that the place flooded over my head in 1996, and mold feels really likely given (plus I felt sick the way I do around mold): But even worse in some ways was the infestation of lantern flies in the toilet. They kindly lent me a stool to be able to reach the seat (very high, though I have short legs), but the flies were everywhere and it was really gross. I had no issue with quiet hours until it became clear that other people nearby would be loud as late as they wanted? All in all I would not recommend this place for anything but the delightful outdoor heated shower, but that’s not enough to cone back/

Blissful Reatreat
Hands down the best river camp we have ever stayed at. So much so we came back the next weekend off. From the salt of the earth hosts Rita and Robert to the simple and very functional camp that is so well stocked with everything you will need. All we brought was food drink clothes and toiletries. We launched from the front yard and paddled up river to catch our fill the first weekend. The second weekend too many floaters thwarted our fishing plans. I will warn you the only cell phone coverage is nil. But I enjoyed being disconnected. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. Dogs a plenty but they are well behaved and spoiled rotten😍. The road to the camp is little more than a goat path so don't plan on speeding to your destination. I can't say enough good. I will warn some who need running water and plumbed toilets. There is a beautiful outdoor private heated shower but wear your river shoes the gravel is killer The vault toilet is just that a fancy word for "the outhouse". We used the fire pit every night while catfishing. We brought our own firewood but left some for the next renters. I would recommend bringing collapsible tubs to wash and rinse dishes to conserve water from the jugs. We didn't like the noise of the AC it's a window shaker but we didn't need it the nights we were there. We will be back when the river is back up again. Thank you so much for a beautiful weekend Robert and Rita
