Welcome to Longview Yurt nestled in the Shenandoah mountains! This is our family retreat we use to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's a wonderful opportunity to disconnect from screens and reconnect with those around you. The yurt has been such a beautiful opportunity for us to simply relax that we decided to share it with like-minded nature-lovers! It is surrounded by nature with a gravel road running along one side of the property and a stream running along the other. The stream is technically on our neighbor's property but you can hear the calming sounds of the water running over the rocks as you relax near the picnic table or further down the property near the tree swing. The yurt is the perfect balance between comfort and camping. There's electricity, mini-frig and coffee maker, actual beds for sleeping, and plenty of space indoors to spread out for a meal or play a board game. However, please note there's NO running water so bring your own for drinking and washing dishes used. Fans are used for cooling the yurt in the summer months; there is no AC. There are plenty of outdoor adventures to be had nearby including Saint Mary's Wilderness (personal favorite!), Crabtree Falls, White Rock Falls, and Goshen Pass Natural Area Preserve. Also worth noting is Rockbridge Vineyard & Brewery is just 3 miles away!

Comfortable Night
This yurt is fun and unique. We are a family of four and had a very comfortable night here. It was down into the 40's, but we stayed warm with the space heaters. The beds are comfortable as well. It's a beautiful area. We had all the information we needed and had no difficulties finding it or getting in. The addition of the bathroom was great! The only tricky part was washing dishes.

We loved yurt living!!
Kelly’s yurt is as described and shown in all previous reviews . Very peaceful, everything has been thought of…very comfortable. I stayed with my family of five. She even has a bathroom with running water working as of the day we arrived. All very well done and convenient. We had a great time around fires, on the swings…my teens acted like kids again. 😊 a great place to unplug and connect. 💛 We drove to several great hikes, to tubing in Buchanan, and visited Staunton and Polyface Farm, a best practices organic farm my daughter wanted to check out. It was a great hub to return to after adventuring. We would say Yurt Sweet Yurt when we drove in. 😊

Amazing Stay!
The Yurt experience was exceptional. Kelly was a tremendous host and the stay was great. We stayed on a night with a pour down and the sounds of the rain on the Yurt were amazing. Highly recommend this stay to anyone who is looking for a calm, peaceful night away.

We had a fantastic night in the Yurt! The decor and vibe are peaceful and beautiful, there are plenty of amenities and ways to stay warm, and it is very private despite being right next to a road. It was the perfect getaway for Thanksgiving! We did not have any phone signal at all, but we were prepared for that because Kelly warned us. We will likely be back soon!

We had a great weekend at the Yurt. We are able to check out Season’s Yield Farm nearby for their bread day and enjoyed listening to all of the birds while out on the patio, I even heard an owl a few times at night! The yurt is well equipped and communication with Kelly was very easy, however service is extremely spotty so I would recommend downloading the map of the area on google ahead of time prior to visiting. The driveway is steep, but luckily since there was no ice or snow my sedan managed just fine.
