HELLO EVERYONE. November 2024. winter is coming. but we will be open unless we get heavy snow. , it's wonderful in the Shenandoah valley. We have done some upgrades, added a small water garden pond, and a large garden, some small fruit trees, raspberries, and blueberries. DIRECTIONS... USE Google or any GPS. there are several ways to get here, depending on the direction you are coming from.... Highway exits closest.. on 81 exit 213, 217. from those it's about 6 or 7 miles.. Route 64. exit 94 / route 340 / Waynesboro... we are 10 miles from that one. October 2023 we had a large group of permaculture students that was very satisfied. We will be expanding and developing in 2024, and add a large popup camper as one site.. FORGET YOUR TENT ? we have a few here you may borrow one, for extra 5 dollars. We also plan to add a nice fire pit, for people to gather around. Lots of open space here so campfires are ok. We welcome guests to our small and charming location 1413 Cold Spings Road, Stuarts Draft, VA. Near Waynesboro. Weather permitting, if you want to come during our " off " season, contact us, perhaps we can host you. We are in a rural area, not far from a town, and on a lovely scenic road with no streetlight or stop lights.. Nearby are the Blue Ridge hills, Appalachian trail, Sherando Lake State park, several large camp grounds many streams and some national forest. We have space for a motorhome up to 20 feet, with electric and several spaces for small RVs, tent, or trailer There is ample room here for a dozen tent sites so if you have a group, contact us. We can work something out. One tent location has direct access to electric and water, but all guests may use the roomy, well lit workshop building for charging phones or social activity, reading, basic food preparation. There is a small refrigerator, microwave, and camp stove available, and a toaster and coffee maker. Land is mostly level we are in a recreational area, only 9 miles from Lake Sherando park. We are particularly fond of the musically inclined, since the host plays guitar. So bring your instruments. And we love nature enthusiasts, homesteaders, bushwhackers, bicyclists, road trippers...........Come here to practice your camping or homesteading skills. Lots of trails nearby. We have a small library of books about outdoor recreation, native plants and creatures, gardening, and property maintenance, DIY........ We also have a bunch of board games guests may use. For children, there is a lot of space to run and play. Pets are welcome. They do not need to be on a leash, but they could run into the woods. There is a full bathoom in the house available to guests, and an outhouse if needed. Owner is a Realtor, specializing in rural property, so if you're thinking of moving to Virginia I can help you. It is a private, and warm, friendly environment here. gas and groceries only a few miles away For children, there is a lot of space to run and play . Great location!
I camped at Paul's property while traveling for work. Great location, very secluded but close to town! Will definitely stay here next time I'm coming this way for work.

Paul is a very gracious host and and stays in contact using Hipcamp text messages. The property is located near the South end of the Shenandoah National Park and is relatively quiet. We would recommend this location.

Private, Kind Host, Lots of Land
Paul was very accommodating; super friendly and flexible, while also being communicative and respectful. Paul had a big open field in the backyard of his property, which was great because I was able to just set up my tent on the sidelines (which on Memorial Day weekend was a godsend since I know it was a madhouse up in Shenandoah National Park) with no disruptions and with ease. There were facilities available on the property, and once again, Paul was so kind and helpful in making my camping stay a nice one. The only thing that I would say (and I don't fault Paul for this at all) is that there were a lot of bugs, which are not my thing (so there was a lot of running to my tent and trying to quickly close it up haha). But if you are fine with insects, this is a great campsite with a tremendous host. Thank you Paul for letting me stay at your property, and for being so understanding!

Paul has a beautiful space- it is large, peaceful, and private! Paul was a very accommodating host, who's passionate about his property. He's 12 minutes down the road from St.Marys National Wilderness park and about 20 minutes from the city making it a prime spot for your camping getaway and your vacation plans.

Virginia Homesteads
I really liked how Paul opened up ALL of his land for us to use. He showed us where to pick blackberries and took my girls for a ride on his 4 wheeler (after offering for me to take them on it… when I declined taking it he offered to take them.) He also was more than willing to take pictures of us which is something that’s always hard to do as a solo adult traveler with two little children. We also loved that we were able to see dear and lightning bugs while there. The accommodation are not “amazing” but they’re more than adequate and Paul was a real gem.
