Tapalou Tree Tent is embedded in the canopy of a mixed deciduous forest on the edge of a five acre field where we farm alongside a multitude flowers and food. Being elevated in the forest is a distilling experience that invites people to take a deep breath. Enjoy forest bathing in a hammock, arranging fresh flowers, eating delicious locally grown food and slowing down.Find yourself up in the trees on the woods' edge at Tapalou Guilds Flower Farm! We built the campsite for how we like to camp: sleeping comfortably, eating well, and relaxing with nature. Now it's available for you, and you don't have to pack too much! Eight feet above the forest floor, our 10'x12' heavy duty canvas tent is pitched and ready for you to enjoy, rain or shine. Soak in the forest view from the queen-size futon bed or gaze up at the mature oak canopy from the hammock on one of the three elevated decks. The covered outdoor kitchen provides the basic amenities to cook homemade delicious meals. Two-burner propane CampChef stove, pots, pans, dishes, utensils and other basic kitchen supplies are on site. 14 gallons of potable water (more if needed) is provided. All you need to bring is your cooler filled with your favorite foods and drinks! A clean and comfortable outhouse employs a basic sawdust composting system for easy, no-frills use. The relaxation comes more readily in the dappled light, where you might find yourself mesmerized by the shadows of the leaves dancing on the decks or the tent roof. Once you are rejuvenated from your "forest bath," there are ample nearby opportunities for outdoor recreation and small town entertainment in southern Vermont/New Hampshire and Western MA. Sweet Pond State Park is a four-minute drive and is great for kayaking or hiking the easy one-mile loop trail. We have two kayaks that you may use free of charge. The Green River Timber Crib Dam is just three miles away with great swimming holes and a historic covered bridge. Guilford's well-maintained dirt roads provide wonderful opportunities for biking and exploring. Downtown Brattleboro is just 15 minutes and has a vibrant arts scene. The local organic agriculture offerings are strong and the Brattleboro Area Farmers' Market (Saturdays May thru Oct) is considered one of the finest in the Northeast. We'll provide more suggestions for you upon request and in an information packet upon your arrival. We've spent the last seven years stewarding our own land using regenerative, no-till farming techniques to grow flowers and food and we're happy to offer a small piece of it for you to enjoy. The farm is our workplace and closed to the general public, but we are happy to schedule a time for you to walk around independently or have a brief tour. You'll park at our farmstand where a cart will be handy for you to transport your gear to the tent site, which is 1/8 mile walk. The nature of uneven terrain and the elevated decks is challenging for handicapped/wheelchair-bound people. If you would like to discuss accessibility concerns please reach out directly, as we would like to make this space available to everyone. You bring your own queen bedding and/or sleeping bags, food and drink, toiletries and whatever else you want to relax with. In addition to the queen futon, there are two Qomotop 4" self-inflating camping mattresses to comfortably sleep up to four adults. Please, no pets and no smoking in the tent. Our farm is in a residential neighborhood and you are likely to experience a combination of sounds that come from the wild and the cultivated including: hooting owls, howling coyotes, crickets, dogs, peeping frogs, people, songbirds, roosters. Wildlife you might see includes deer, porcupines, possums, skunks, coyotes (!), rabbits, birds, etc. We ask that you keep it peaceful and mostly quiet and respect private property around us as designated. We hope to see you soon at the Tapalou Tree Tent!

A Must Stay!
What an incredible place. My wife and I had an amazing time. Between cooking outdoors, having a bonfire, enjoying the stars, etc, it has everything you need. We will 100% be coming back. Don’t miss this place!

Tapalou was the perfect retreat! Imagine walking through a flower farm, into the forest, and discovering a 2-story haven. Everything was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the entire stay was incredibly comfortable.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep
What a lovely experience that was! For the price of a seedy motel, you get to walk through mown fields, past chickens and a flower farm, into your own wooded lair. You get three levels of deck, a fun off-the-grid shower and a magical outdoor kitchen stocked with everything. From the king-sized bed, all I heard was the sound of falling rain. The next morning, I had an extended, peaceful reading session up above the nicely maintained forest floor. What an easy way to "camp." I took a few bike rides from the property, finding trails at Sweet Pond trailhead and amazing road bike roads south and north. And still, it's less than 10 minutes to a grocery store. Would highly recommend.
