Ideal for those looking for a quiet weekend getaway surrounded by trees, trails and nature. A perfect spot for a getaway in any season. Hand-pumped water supply only. Composting toilet. New outdoor, propane-heated shower (seasonal). Cozy propane fireplace. Songwood Cabin is located in the heart of our private FSC-certified property near Limerick Forest. Ideal for those looking for a quiet weekend getaway surrounded by trees, trails and nature. A perfect spot for a getaway in any season. The 16 x 20 ft. cabin is walk in, 300 ft from our home, with electricity supplied by our 8.9KW MicroFIT solar panels. Kitchen area has sink and hand-pumped water supply, microwave, toaster, mini-fridge and propane range and oven. All the tools for making and serving your favourite food. The living area has a propane fireplace, fold-out sleeper couch, writing desk and dining table. Windows on every side provide views of surrounding forest. The sleeping loft has a very comfortable queen-size bed. There's no running water in the cabin; two 5-gallon water jugs with hand pump are provided for guests for washing and cooking. Separate bathroom with composting toilet. New for 2024, for the warm months we've added an outdoor shower - with hot running water heated with propane. The cabin is finished inside and out with locally-milled eastern white pine, which smells fantastic. The red pines outside the cabin door also provide the aromatic fragrance that many people find difficult to describe but unforgettable — almost magical. Come and see for yourself.

A great cabin experience!

Tom and Jeanne were extremely accommodating and have a lovely little cabin on their property. The area has lots of forest trails and so much history. We used the local trails, fire pit, and grill that Tom let us cart to the cabin. We stayed in mostly as it was early spring and rainy and had a great time. Fully stocked kitchen, very spacious cabin, we kept ourselves occupied. Highly recommend!
