5 acres right off Hwy 20 adjacent to the Choctawhatchee River Boat Ramp near Ebro, Fl. The bridge muffles the sound of the traffic but not enough for light sleepers. Good views of the river. Beautiful dock for fishing. Less than 2 miles to Dollar General for most of your needs, 4 miles to Bruce, Fl. Learn more about this land: Tent camping on the Choctawhatchee River. Two public boat launches right next to the property.  The boat launch has a port-a-potty as do we. We have an outdoor shower that has instant hot water.  We can accommodate boat parking on the property. We have a dock that you can tie your boat to but the water level is often not good for getting on and off the boat.   I'm putting a road into the back so you can go in and out without to boat dock without crossing the road..  At present, you sometimes need a 4 wheel drive to get to the back of the property.   For those of you who wish to boondock with your trailer or motorhome, we can accommodate at most times.    There is a breakfast nook at the tiny house on the hill with a barbecue available. We are on HWY 20.  The music of the traffic crossing the bridge at no extra cost. We are on the river-flooding provided, when available,  at no extra cost.   We offer 7 campsites presently-most large enough for more than one tent, several shaded. We now offer boondocking for smaller RVs and at extra cost can hook up to electricity and water.   Boat parking is available.   Two boat launch sites are right next to the property.  A new kayak/canoe launch has just been opened.   Fishing is good, but you must talk to a fisherman who catches them.  They are all safe in the water from me. There is a port-a-potty available.  There is a hot water shower.  There is water available if you know how to use a pump.   No drinking water is available unless you have the filters needed.   The solar panels have a connection for phone charging, if needed.   We provide a breakfast table with a small charcoal grill that can be used.  Usually there is charcoal available.  You are welcome to move it if you wish to use it and you are the only camper.   The Exercise tent on the river is for those who don't want to miss a workout.   You can watch the sunrise from the dock.  The Florida trail passes in front of the property.   We will meet you at the next road if you are into hiking.  (about 8 miles).   Animals:  12 chickens, 8 goats and a kid, 2 pot belly pigs, Your pets are welcome but please keep on leash I presently do not have firepits at the campsites. Please bring a portable if you wish to have a fire. I have quite a bit of wood available.

Tent
Pitched a tend in a lovely part of the property, great tree coverage and a beautiful lake view! We are from the city so the nearby highway was very quiet compared to it and didn’t bother us at all! They’ve got a target for axe throwing and bow and arrow practice, as well as a lovely well shaded dock over the lake. Would absolutely recommend and thinking about making this an annual trip!

Very Sweet!
Tent
I was supposed to tent tonight but the forecast says 100% chance for rain and they offered for me to spend the night in their camper instead with no upcharge. I slept very soundly. Bert gave me tour of the property after nightfall since I arrived later and I loved seeing the animals. I was going to leave before sunrise the next day to continue on my road trip but I stayed a little longer to see the lake in the morning... worth it! I enjoyed the outdoor shower as well!

With direct access to the river, Camping by the River, is in prime location for peaceful relaxation or waterborne fun. Our visit was laid-back and enjoyable. Our kind host, Burt, greeted us and gave my husband an orientation of the property, thoughtfully highlighting all the accessible amenities and facilities along the way (potable water, bathroom facility, riverfront dock, exercise facility, etc.). During our stay, we set up our tent on a level, grassy site not far from the river and picturesque wetland. The camping plot was simple, functional and all that we needed for our night’s stay. After pitching the tent, my husband and I went for a walk and enjoyed visiting the goats and pigs on the other side of the property. If you’re looking for an easy-going, riverfront Hipcamp within a short drive to some of Florida’s most beautiful beaches, Camping by the River is a nice choice. Thank you for sharing your Hipcamp with us. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with you, and deeply appreciate your genuine hospitality.

Mixed feelings

Priced right for the setting
The only issue that my wife and I feel should be disclosed to campers is that the campgrounds are right next to the freeway. I'm a very light sleeper. Other than that, the grounds are lovely with plenty of room to spread out right next to the river. We happen to visit right after some heavy rain so there were a few spots with water that are normally dry. If it wasn't for the freeway noise, we would return. The price is fair for the setting.

Not what is described
Tent · Group trip
Location isn't bad, only about 20 mins to pier park. The family is sweet. The breakfast nook that is in the description is to my knowledge incorrect, they do have like a tiny home but it's their private area not a breakfast nook or grill or anything. They do have a shower however it never actually worked the whole time we were there (2/3 weeks) and towards the end pulled the hose away completely. They mention a port a potty next to them at the boat ramp. It is but it's across the road not next to them, you would have to drive over. They have a gated property with several small dogs that will bite you, I have pictures of the blood brought on my leg, didn't make it through my shoes or socks for the others. Half the campsite areas are in a flood zone so if the river rises you will have to move your tent. In general I do not recommend staying here unless you are just staying a night or weekend at most and then be careful of the dogs.

This worked well for a place to sleep while I was passing through, and the hosts were communicative and friendly. It's at this point and open space where I could park anywhere. It was a cold night and it would have been nice to have a spot for a fire. Overall, I think this is a place with a lot of potential.
