The best site!!! My tiny sedan made it all the way there, even thru the water crossing. Wentz is a very kind host! Recommending to all my friends IRL. The river is very peaceful this time of year and i loved the elevated cabin! The location is also perfect-right on the fourche la fave river in the middle of ouachita natl forest
We had an awesome experience! We stayed at Site 2, loved it, and now want to go back to try out Site 1. Really beautiful spot to get away with amenities that turn car camping into glamping. Our dogs had a blast, and a bald eagle even soared through the site!
HipCamp provided the perfect spot to unplug and reconnect with God in the most peaceful, beautiful way. With no power, electricity, or running water, this campsite really lets you get away from it all—no distractions, just raw, natural beauty and the quiet needed to focus on Jesus. The views were stunning, and there’s something incredibly freeing about being off the grid, surrounded only by nature and the stillness of creation. It’s truly a little sanctuary where you can spend time in prayer and worship, with nothing to pull you away. For anyone looking to recharge their spirit, get quiet with God, and be immersed in the beauty of His work, this site is a treasure. Highly recommend for anyone ready to let go of the world and connect on a deeper level!
As much as I don’t want to share how amazing this site is, I’d be disappointed if more people don’t get to experience it. Absolute gem of a location. You can wade across the river, knee deep. Very well maintained site. Second time here and surely not my last.
We loved our weekend here! We tent camped but there was a converted horse trailer that was pretty cool and very very minimal. We just wanted to take advantage of the great weather by sleeping outside this trip. It was beautiful, close to the water, secluded, and our dog had a lovely time running around and taking some dips in the river while we kayaked. We’d stay again for sure.
I had a lovely stay at Free Bird! The site was clean and everything was as described. Great spot for stargazing!
