Eat, drink, and be merry in this small city surrounded by mountains, parks, and lakes.
On the shore of massive Lake Memphremagog, Magog serves up a multitude of urban delights in the prettiest of surroundings. As part of the Eastern Townships region, Magog is a gourmet traveller’s dream, surrounded by food and wine trails with epicurean experiences. The city’s walkable downtown has restaurants celebrating local cuisine, as well as a distillery and brewery, boutiques, galleries, and all the amenities you’d expect, but Magog is also full of parks and walking trails. The town's beach is perfect for swimming and paddling, and when setting out from Magog, campers will find they're on the doorstep of Mont-Orford National Park and close to many private and public campgrounds.
Supporting a year-round population, Magog is greater to visit anytime, but the best time depends on what exactly you want to do. Cold-weather campers can pitch a tent in the dead of winter in some parks, but if you’re looking to enjoy the lake, then mid-July through late August is the best time. We adore the Eastern Townships in fall thanks to its glorious changing leaves.
