A private piece of Prince Edward County! An adorable little retro styled bunkie on a private woodsy property that’s just a fifteen minute walk (or three minute drive) from a picturesque rock beach on Lake Ontario. Tucked in privately from the road out of site by a bunch of junipers and other trees located on the property. The bunkie offers a nice queen sized bed, a little area to the side with chairs and a table to relax if you need to get out of the sun/rain, and a very chill 70’s beach vibe. If the wind is just right, you will be able to hear the waves crash from the beach! The property has a perfect little hangout area where there is a nice big fire pit, patio table/chairs, as well as a portable bbq (you will just need to bring your own little Coleman propane cylinder with you.) If it’s a nice clear night, stare up to the sky and you may see the Milky Way above! There are a couple short loop trails that you can walk your dog on that loop from the bunkie/hangout area that will loop you back to either spot on the property. I just ask you to be respectful of cleaning up after your pets if you bring any. There are some pylons located in areas on the trails to indicate not to go past those any further due to it being not maintained past that those points. The land is located on probably one of the quietest roads in the County. You may see more off road vehicles if your on your way to the beach then you would cars. There is also a little outhouse located at the front of the property off to the side of the driveway. Twenty minutes from the town of Picton where you can find any amenity you require! A gorgeous town with tons of great restaurants, wineries, breweries, farm stands, artisans and shopping. Check out the rest of Prince Edward County by just adding a few more minutes to your trip in any direction to explore our other great towns around the community. So much to see and do here, lots of sightseeing, nature trails, conservation areas and don’t forget the world famous Sandbanks provincial park! (The largest sandbar beach in Canada). Perfect getaway for a couples glamping experience, some peace, quiet, and relaxation, or to just let loose and have a great time! There are no houses to either side of the property, so there’s no worry to be quiet 😉.

Nestled at the edge of a UNESCO world heritage site, and a 5-minute dive from Big Rideau Lake -- part of the Rideau Canal System, Stonegate Farm is a remarkable 1830's property; virtually unchanged since it was carved out of the local wilderness some 190 years ago. The historic stone farmhouse, outbuildings and majestic post-and-beam bank barn, originally built to support a 200-acre dairy farm, now sits on 50-acres that features waving pastoral fields, tranquil maple forest, and serene wetland. Escape to the Forest Hideaway, a charming off-grid tiny house with tiny wood stove, perfect for adventure! No need to disconnect - we’ve got WIFI! Make sure to enjoy the deck and nearby gazebo! Inside, you'll find your queen bed in the loft at the top of a ladder. The tiny house is surrounded by trees, and the interior has a platform couch and bench for seating, tiny wood stove, tiny kitchen, "shower" area for sponge bathing, and a composting toilet. (There is no running water or electricity). We are stocked with all bedding, towels, dishware, tea, coffee, and a French press! You'll find a BBQ and camp stove for cooking on the deck - there's no fridge, but a cooler with ice packs will be provided. Battery packs are here for charging cell phones and laptops (with USB-C and USB). The tiny home comes complete with rechargeable lamps, battery powered lights, potable drinking and washing water, and WIFI! Consider this the most indoor camping experience you can have and still be out in the woods! You'll want to be comfortable with making a fire and keeping warm in the winter months! The tiny stove will keep you warm on the coldest winter days, but you have to keep it going. :) In the winter months, we'll get the stove started to warm everything before you arrive (and provide you with kindling and wood). When cleaning out the ashes in the stove (if necessary,) please use the metal pail outside and place the ash-filled pail back on the concrete blocks. Please note that there is no other heat source. Check out Mill Pond Conservation Area for great hiking about 15 minutes away! Maybe Rock Dunder Nature Reserve for hiking and AMAZING views? (30 minutes). Check out Rideau Ferry Beach (Yacht Club Conservation Area) for public swimming on Rideau Lake nearby the tiny house! Looking for bikes/kayaks/canoes? Try Rideau Tours at Chaffey's Locks, roughly 30 minutes away. No campfires (there is no clearing in the forest). No smoking please! :)

There is a grocery store @20 minutes North in Sharbot Lake as well as further South in Verona. In addition to gigantic Bob’s Lake, we are also close to Crow Lake, Long Lake, Eagle Lake and Sharbot Lake.We have other locations: Pine Solitude, Big Sky Solitude and Meadow Bluff.

Warm feels – The host was really friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. No surprises – The tent was just as it appeared in the photos (always a plus!). Cozy feels – Extra blankets were produced when the temperature dropped to 0°C. Saviour. Campfire goals – David had kindling ready for the fire each evening. Complete vibe setter. We were also offered a bottle of wine at the fireplace, how kind. Breakfast bonus – Home-cooked breakfasts from scratch? Alone, worth the trip. Garden perks – Had the chance to pick fresh vegetables that they grow in their garden. Yes, please! Glamp life upgrades – Real toilets + a legitimate shower area = a luxury in the woods. They also have a power outlet inside the tent, which is a big plus. Hot water hiccup – The hot water heater malfunctioned one day, but they got us up and running again quickly and even offered us a breakfast discount. Tip: Check if the hot water tank works when booking. Chill zone – Hammock time and well-spaced tent sites = chill time. Booking heads-up – Prices may vary slightly (between $ 65-100 CAD) across booking platforms, so compare them before making a reservation. The host and Hipcamp couldn't help recoup the difference. Final takeaway – Seriously, this house gets glamping right. So comfy, thoughtful little touches all over the place, and just the perfect combination of rough + cozy.

Camping at Juniper beach bunkie was a positive experience. The bunkie was clean and spacious, and the area of the site was quiet. There is minimal (if any) cell service so make sure you have your map downloaded in advance.

It was so peaceful and serene at Jays bunker retreat. Enough room for my pop up trailer as well as two cars, though it was just me and the pups this trip. Super close to the most gorgeous beach (Point Petre) and nice clean level site. The bunkie is the CUTEST with adorable decor and the perfect rustic feel.

Truly an amazing spot! The bunkie was very stylish and the set up was really well thought out. We stayed here for two nights and had the best sleep ever. We swam a bunch at Point Petre and it really made the trip for us. So much beautiful nature and so much privacy too. The host was very communicative and responsive! I will say that the bunkie can get pretty hot during the day, so I recommend choosing activities outside of the site during the day! Also make sure to pack some bug spray, the bugs were abundant and the mosquitoes were hungry at night. That being said, the bunkie has a very air tight mosquito net situation and while you are in it, you are 100% bug free which was amazing! Plus, bugs are part of the deal when you go off the grid and it was a 1000% worth it. We would def recommend and stay here again!

When I arrived at the site, asked for an extra day because of how awesome this place was. Three nights turned out to be the perfect amount of time to explore everything we wanted at Sandbanks and enjoy the camp site. Even four nights would’ve kept us entertained! You can tell a lot of thought went into designing this spot. We especially loved being just a 3-minute drive from a stunning rock beach, perfect for sunsets and feeling refreshed.
