This is a large and well-built bunkie, very suitable for two people and a dog! There are lots of thoughtful touches, like bug screens on the windows and on the door, so we were able to sleep with the door open for a beautiful breeze. Outside the bunkie is a lovely little picnic area with seating and fairy lights - very charming. I set up a hammock there and slept outside one night. The stars are spectacular in this remote little corner of the county, far from any city or street lights.
It's very private, with lots of trees and no immediate neighbours. The beach area nearby is just spectacular (although bring good shoes, it's very rocky!)
Nearby are two excellent wineries (Lighthall is especially recommended) and the new Base31 art space is just awesome. Bloomfield is about a (very pretty) 20min drive away.
Jay was a great host, with an easy handoff (lock box) and good communication.
Things to note: there is NO water or electricity, and the nearest place to buy anything is a good 10 min drive away, so make sure you bring lots of water and battery packs for your phone! Also, the cell service is quite spotty. Whether you get service or not depends on what company you are with (Rogers worked, Virgin did not!)
I had a very pleasant stay in the county. This is much more private than Sandbanks and I hope to return next summer!
