We loved the waterfront spot and the beautiful view of the sunrise. The hosts were very hospitable when we arrived to guide us to the site and available if we needed anything. Easy drive to the site and large flat space for tents or RV camping.

Weekend Trip to Beach and Forest

If you need an escape from the every day, this is your place. Our adventure began with a ride through scenic Winter Wonderland ride in the woods via UTV. The charming cabin, all hand made by Helmut, was charming, homey and very cozy during the cold winter weekend. There are some candles and lamps provided for light and three huge jugs of water to drink and wash dishes with. The wood stove functioned perfectly, keeping us warm at night and provided perfect heat to cook on. Lots of firewood and birch bark to keep the wood stove going and plenty for a fire outside, which we thoroughly enjoyed with drinks and snacks. The outhouse is clean and scent free ;) Helmut was a very friendly host and responded quickly to messages (given that he was our ride in and out). He groomed trails all around the property which made our Xcountry ski adventure super enjoyable. The wilderness area around the property is majestic. Some trails were left un-groomed, which was perfect for snowshoeing as well. Highly recommend this off-grid getaway. While we did not want to leave, we did so with a feeling of peace and tranquillity. Thank you, Helmut for sharing your little piece of paradise with us! 🙏🏻🌲

1 night at Manuel's Camping

Manuel was super super helpful. He guided us all the way and was all the time available for any help. The camp site is really amazing, clean and cozy. Would definitely recommend. Must visit for a peaceful night out.

Weekend Trip to Beach and Forest

We loved our weekend gateaway and we'll be back for sure! We spend the weekend doing fires outside, play with our dog, cook on the woodstove and even did a chocolat fondu at candle lights. This was our first experience with HipCamp and we are not dissapointed! Helmut was a wonderful host he made sure we had everything we needed and to thank him we cleaned and got is camp ready for the next one! I would recommend anyone that want to unplug and live the off grid experience to jump on this right away! Take it for 2 days! You will not regret it! Thanks again for the experience!!

Had a lovely time with my friends exploring this beautiful woods and enjoying a cozy stay at the Owl’s Nest cabin. I would give 6 stars if I could! The work being done to protect and care for this forest and its inhabitants is very inspiring.

We had an amazing week at Helmut’s cabin! the cabin itself is so lovely and has everything you need. We enjoyed walking through all the trails on the property. We will absolutely be back!

Weekend Trip to Fraserville Off-Grid Camping

Pristine site on a gorgeous, well-maintained property. Great firewood and outhouse. Site 3 was such a quiet, peaceful location- perfect if you prefer camping in the woods. Beautiful stars and sunrise over the water. Dan was very helpful and quick to respond. What I wish every camping experience could be.

We are Located within a five minute drive just outside of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, our property has over 2500 feet of oceanfront with a mixture of Sand, Pebble and Rock covered beaches. 1500 ft of our ocean front is mostly made up of 60ft high cliffs with trees for shelter from the wind and sun. We supply everything you need such as two prefabricated C-Can washroom / Shower Units with both of the washrooms having showers with running hot water. (Bring your own Soap and Shampoo) unlimited firewood, and running water to have an unforgettable Ocean Front RV/camping/tenting experience. Don’t come camping if you don’t have the following: 1. A hatchet or axe. 2. A flashlight. 3. Shelter (tent). We supply a the view, water access, washroom, shower and firewood we don’t teach people how to start a fire or give them lessons on what to bring camping. Tatamagouche is home to the Tatamagouche Brewery, The Train Station Inn, The Creamery Square / Heritage Society (Anna Swan Museum) and the Balmoral Gristmill. Guests can take in dinning experiences at restaurants such as the Nook & Cranny, The Chowder House and Big Als Pub. For the golf enthusiasts, we are just 5 min away from the water front Brule Point Golf Course and for world class golfing experience we are just 30 minutes from the Fox Harbor Golf Resort. Our property is mainly made up of open spaces with few trees, we have an abundant of Pic-nic areas with oversized pic-nic tables are placed along the ocean front so guests can have an unforgettable gathering with friends and family. With steps down to our premium beach front. the property has easy access to the water for kayaking, swimming and we have a small boat launch for personal water crafts during high tides. All ocean front tenting / RV sites have no services available if you want access to power and water you will have to book one of the sites that have services to it. The property consists of a 6 acre lot right on the beach and an 145 acre wood lot right across the street. The beach is sandy at low tide and ideal for swimming, canoeing, bird watching, etc. The wood lot has a cabin on it and groomed walking trails. It is inhabited by a wide variety of wildlife. The property on the beach is bordered by a small brook and a variety of water fowl come to feed, rest and bathe. Nova Scotia can be seen on the horizon.
