We are next to a spring fed lake that contains trout and small mouth bass and it is great for swimming during the summer months. There are no motor boats permitted on the lake, however it is perfect for paddle boards, floaties and kayaks. There are several walking trails throughout our 10 acre property and the Trans Canada Trail is just minutes away. We have a large lawn for playing frisbee or bocce ball and a corn hole pitch (also known as beanbag toss). There is a fire pit, pinic table, 2 patios with tables, chairs and umbrellas and a pit toilet. A sink and potable water are also available. We are situated in forested land on the edge of the wilderness. There is deer, bear, cougar, beaver, martins and an abundance of birds in the area. This is a great location for those hiking or biking the Trans-Canada Trail. Adults and small dogs only. Currently our sites are only available on weekdays and is unavailable from November to the end of April.

Beautiful secluded hideaway right in the heart of magical Gabriola Island. Minutes walk through boardwalks and community gardens to our little village. The public property next to mine known as ‘ the commons, often hosts many outdoor music and community events. Mermaid Marsh is Bordering on 700 acres of picturesque walking trails. Close to many breathtaking beaches. You’ll be surrounded by gardens, marshland, nature & forest. The property is under construction to be a hipcamp dream. Wanted to get bookings available for summer! There is space to set up your own tent or I have a Glamping site which will be furnished including a queen bed in a 10 by 14 canvas wall tent. There will be composting toilets. An outdoor clawfoot tub, and coming soon a traditional Finnish sauna. Also offerings for island adventures such as paddling or foraging hikes, yoga and reiki. There is a 10pm noise bylaw on island so being respectful of that and other campers with no excessive noise after 10 is appreciated.

RV camping near Nanaimo guide

Overview

On the east coast of central Vancouver Island, Nanaimo is uniquely positioned between great beaches and lush west coast rainforest. To get to Nanaimo, take campervans and trailers onto the BC Ferries route between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay where RVs have their own specific area—advance reservations are strongly encouraged, as RV spots fill up. Several RV campgrounds near Nanaimo provide 50-amp hookups, washroom facilities, clubhouses, and pull-in and pull-through spots with paved pads to help reduce mud during rainfall, which can occur throughout the year in this area. Go fishing or kayaking on a hot summer day, or opt to beachcomb at Dolphin Beach near Nanoose Bay, explore Parksville’s Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, hike through old-growth cedar forests, or forest bathe in Englishman River Falls Park.
