Weekend Trip to K & J Acres

Lovely view of the valley. Tidy and organized. The RV site was flat and easy to access. We enjoyed the company with Kathy and her pal Jazz. The area is quiet and close to many outdoor activities. It was a lovely weekend stay. We enjoyed a tour of her very lovely paintings. We purchased a charismatic oil painting of Phillip the donkey.

Great spot conveniently located just outside of Vernon. Kathryn was very welcoming and flexible working with my schedule and made sure I had everything that I need (power, water, etc). She also has an incredibly cute and friendly dog!

Lovely secluded RV site with everything you need.. water, electricity and excellent wifi. Quirky little walks with surprises around every corner. It was raining while I stayed and the gravel was a good surface. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We loved camping at Lisa’s place. It feels very private and very safe. There is everything a camper needs. Lisa communicated very well and there is a beautiful trail all the way around the property to small play area where all members of our family had so much fun. Lisa was so nice and understanding when our dog started running across her fields and around her property. I felt so bad but she even helped to catch him.

Nice place, beautiful view of the night sky (if not, cloudy!), and we were isolated. There was a little bit of noise in the morning from dump trucks a few hundred meters away, but we didn't mind. Bring loonies for shower ($1/7 minutes) and washing was loonies plus quarters (I think it was 2.50 for a wash, but I didn't do any washing while there)

Lovely quiet spot and very welcoming host. We were ahead of the season but they were incredibly accommodating opening one of the toilets for us. We also made good use of the firepit. World definitely return.

We had a tough time getting there with the ferry and all, but once we got to the campsite and settled in, it was amazing. The site was pretty secluded. The people that were there were all really nice. The area was covered in snow which made it beautiful. My wife and I had a great time snow camping.

Dons place was perf for what we needed. Super quiet, very private and the dog enjoyed the hikes down to the lake and walking the rail trail. we loved having the chickens just out our back door, and Don was generous enough to share their eggs with us. Thanks for hosting us for 4 nites.

Sewer not plumbed through, but, the sani station is 5 minutes away at the Esso gas station hwy 97 and Chief Lake rd intersection. We are 5 minutes west of highway 97 on Chief Lake rd. Our driveway is 250 feet after the Pilot Mt rd intersection (7555 Chief Lake Rd). It's the only driveway on the left. Please give us a heads-up as for your estimated arrival time to ensure we are here. Northern most Costco here in town, cheapest gas/diesel and whatever stocking up you require. The Superstore is next door to Costco as well. John and Arlene. We have a private 10 acre property with 2 available rv sites with full hookups that includes electricity, water and wifi. We have a 350 sq ft pavilion in case of inclement weather, and a wide 1.5 acre grassy field, swing set for the little ones, and at times an above ground swimming pool and volleyball net where you can camp and entertain yourself. Your dogs or other small pets are permitted in the camping areas only as our herd is terrified of dogs. There is another large area where well-behaved dogs can run off leash. We have one RV site with septic, water and 50 Amp power and can fit a 40 foot unit and numerous U-pick tent sites.

Valhalla Pines Campground

This is a quiet forested residential area in Sinixt territory. Recommended activities include floating down the river, canoeing the lake, hiking or climbing in Valhalla Park, soaking in Halfway Hot Springs or indulging in Nelson. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers. This valley has many outdoor activities and events and a very interesting history and culture including Sinixt, Doukhobor, Cannabis and Conscientious Objector. Nelson, Castlegar and Slocan Lake are all a half hour drive away. There are many other special places nearby such as the Goddess Pools and the Emerald Pools. Supplies and services are available nearby including firewood, toiletries, dog day care, massage, bike and canoe rentals, life jackets, rubber dingys and paddles etc. Let us know if you would like a referral to any of these services. There are many guides available for activities in the area including (water sports, climbing, skiing, hiking, artist tours, events, geology, mining, mushrooms, cannabis, garden tours and native history). There is a particularly valued native storyteller here that can also provide a walking tour to a nearby village site with a full scale replica of an aboriginal kekuli (earth house). Please call ahead for recommendations on booking guides or storytellers. You don't need one to get here, but its good to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for some of the logging roads that are worth visiting. Roof and/or bike racks can also come in handy. The Vallican Whole community center also has events nearby.

If you're bringing an RV, there are sites that do not require levelling and we can accommodate vehicles up to 75ft in length. Bring your animals - there are a lot of great spaces for them to play! Our yard is equipped for horseback riding with a horse ring and stable. The property is a great step-off point for ATV, dirt bikes, horseback and hiking adventures. Potable water, toilet, picnic table, wifi and showers are available. Pets welcome, campfires permitted. We are a 15-20 minute drive to Cranbrook. As the basecamp of the Kootenay Rockies, Cranbrook has it all - From all the trails one can dream of to multiple award-winning golf courses all within a 20-minute drive out of town, Cranbrook is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. You can rent E-Bikes or boats for extra excitement. The property is part of a 10-acre cherry orchard. Find farm stands and charming restaurants and some world-class wineries in the area. We have three tent sites to choose from: and one rv site - Site 1 boasts a large deck for pitching your tent and enjoying the sacred spot under the eagle's nests (requires a 4WD vehicle to access) - Site 2 has lake views from a creekside forested spot. Decourcy Meadows is a peaceful forested site within a short walking distance to a safe local swimming beach. We are an RV-only campsite. The site is level and can accommodate vehicles up to 40ft in length. Electrical, sewage, and potable water hookups included. Amenities include a picnic table, wifi and a fire ring and some fire wood supplied at no cost. If there is a campfire ban in effect we will provide a propane campfire. The property is about half natural forest and so it's not unusual to see local critters, large and small peeking out! There are several hiking trails in the area and local parks as well. There are 3 artisans on Decourcy Drive. The world-famous Crow and Gate pub is 4 km from here and the historic Wheat Sheaf Hotel (Pub) is about 5 km. Local restaurants and Cafes, Groceries, Pharmacy are 5 km. We are a quiet country getaway located 25 minutes from Nanaimo Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. Duke Point Terminal is about 20 minutes. Picturesque town of Ladysmith is about 25 minutes south and the very Unique town of Chemainus is 35 minutes and very worth seeing.
