Welcome to White Sands Smokehouse! The summer of ‘25 has seen big changes to our little primitive campsite! We are proud to offer accommodations in our Air Conditioned 16’ diameter bell tent! You’re up off the ground on a sealed deck. The tent is waterproof and highly resilient in winds up to 50mph. **We do not have bedding available in the bell tent yet, so bring your own sleeping bag, cot, etc.** Your Camp Host, Chef Üdø, is onsite most days and evenings, and has 30 years' experience in the catering and private chef biz, and as a camp host. He's happy to coordinate hot meals for you and your companions! No more need to go into town to get a pizza or some icky fast food! We will make you a homemade pizza, dry-aged steak, brined chicken, smoked Wagyu burger, or lasagna...all in-house. Vegan, vegetarian, kosher, low-sodium, and most other dietary restrictions are no problem! We'll bake you a birthday cake, brownies, pie, or even Crème brûlée! We cook with a spirit of Love and inclusion in our kitchen, and it shows! ❤️ Check our reviews! People love my food because I ❤️ to make it! Chef Üdø maintains current local food handler's certification, as well as HAACP federal certification. Prices are friendly and competitive with local restaurants. Vacuum-sealed frozen meals, aka “sous vide” available for most recipes. (Please check “extras” section for more detail) We offer a 15amp electrical connection, access to clean running water, and access to our 4 acre back pasture. We feature unparalleled views of the sunrise over the mountains, as well as convenient access to Lincoln National Forest, White Sands National Monument, BLM off-road parklands, and nearby Alamogordo. Firewood available onsite for friendly prices (provided there isn't a current burn ban). Additional onsite and backcountry packages are available, including fully-catered backcountry excursions in the Lincoln National Forest, wildlife spotting tours, photo tours, and even backcountry drive-in movies are available! Campfire setup, breakfast and omelette bar also available for large groups.

Our completely remodeled cabin is located in “Old Ruidoso”. It’s walking distance to Midtown and a short drive to Grindstone Lake, Ski Apache and Ruidoso Downs Race Track. We have a grill on our back deck with seating area and an hot tub in the back yard. Our front deck has a 2 person porch swing where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. As frequent Airbnb guests we feel we have provided a great place for you to stay. The space House: We look forward to sharing our cabin, The Treehouse with you. We purchased and renovated this cabin as a full-time vacation rental and as a place for my husband and me to stay when we visit our daughter and her family. We have been coming to Ruidoso several times a year since they moved here. We love the beauty of the mountains and wildlife and look forward to sharing that with you. Outside: We have 2 seating areas outside, 1 on the front deck and another on the back deck in addition to a gas grill and a hot tub. Parking: There are 2 parking spots in the driveway. Sleeping Areas: The house sleeps up to 4 people, a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper couch in the living room. We also have a pack-and-play upon request. There is a small 4-drawer dresser and a closet with plenty of hangers to store your belongings. In addition to the mini-split heater in the living room there are 2 space heaters for the bedroom and the bathroom for the cooler months. For the warmer months the mini-split also has and air conditioner setting and there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. We provide all pillows and bed linens. Bathroom: We have a full sized bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We provide towels, soap, lotion and toilet paper plus a blow dryer, iron, ironing board and luggage rack located in the closet which is also in the bathroom. Living room: Sink into our comfy couch or chair while watching tv or reading a book. We provide a phone charging station on the side table next to the couch. There are a variety of games which you can find on the side table by back door. Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped for you to cook Camera: We have a nest camera installed in the front of the cabin that can not only see anything in the front, but can also pick up your conversation.

Korine was so sweet and welcoming to her land! Highly recommend staying here. It was a cold night so she lent us her propane heater for our tent and gave us a bunch of firewood and a tarp to protect our tent. Thank you!!!

Camping on Chef's property was a unique experience. As you might expect, he is a great cook, and it is rare to have a hot meal served to you when camping. It can be a bit of a challenge to coordinate the timing if you don't know when you might be getting into camp, but things worked out OK. He is a knowledgeable host with a clear passion for the outdoors. There are no regular camp sites in white sands NP, so this is about as close as you can get and there are other recreational possibilities in the nearby mountains. Chef has great plans for improvements to his site, such as a shower building, and he has a glamping tent available, but for now I had to make do with a shared table in contrast to other hosts that tend to offer individual picnic tables. There is a bathroom tent, but fires were not permitted when I was there. Much of the camping area is bare dirt. When I was there in winter the weather was mild with some wind, but I am told it can be more windy at times. Noise is a concern, there is noise from the road although it will die down late at night, noise from trains, and noise from roosters owned by nearby neighbors. On the positive note, I was able to observe a rare missile test at night with an interesting exhaust tail. Bringing ear plugs may help.

An awesome site extremely close to Oliver Lee Memorial State Park, Alamogordo, and White Sands. It was a great combination of remote and private while still being a short drive to any destination. The site provided a picnic tabe, fire barrel, hammock rack and portable toilet. There were excellent views of the sunset, sunrise and night sky. I highly recommend it and will be returning on future trips.

We loved our time at Reeve's place! The space is very homey, nestled in the trees, and although it was nearly full we felt like our site was private. The restrooms were spotless and each has a very nice shower. Midtown Mountain is located close to several restaurants, a grocery store, and hiking trails are easily accessible. Reeve was full of information about the area. We absolutely will be back if we return to Ruidoso. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a lovely stay on the property! The owners were amazing and waited up for us. We did get lost. GPS took us on a different route so whatever you do… follow the directions the host sends you and type the address directly into the gps. And we are pretty experienced off roaders and adventurers so we thought eeeeeeeh we will be fine after dark. We got there but if you can get there before dark I highly recommend it! We can’t wait to go back and spend more time on the property! Thank you!!!

Oliver Lee Memorial State Park Campground

Stayed at Oliver Lee on a photo scouting mission in February this year, and we loved staying here! The sun shelters at most tent sites were super helpful against the windy nights, and the facilities were kept clean and quite. Highly recommend. And we'll be back.

The best place to hang out and explore the Tularosa Basin! 44 campsites include 7 that are reservable. 18 sites have water and electric hook ups, the rest are dry sites. The campground has showers in the middle easy to get to from all sites. Some sites have shelters. The visitor center has a nice small museum with info about the area. The park has a nice nature trail and access to the Dog Canyon Trail which rises up 3,100 feet in 5.5 miles. Supplies are available in Alamogordo 12 miles away.
