80+ acres all to yourself!! This beautiful and very secluded property, with river, kayaks, trails, and creeks is offered to only one group at a time to ensure peace, quiet, and seclusion. No other guests will overlap your stay. You will enjoy the peaceful solitude in nature completely alone!
It's a great location for romantic getaways, silent personal retreats, yoga, playing in the river, or just spending quiet one-on-one time with your spouse or significant other. The last 1/2 mile of dirt road is a little rough, so cars with very low ground clearance are not recommended.
Campers on Thunder Mountain enjoy the entire property by themselves - including the unique outdoor bathhouse with outdoor tub and shower, impressive multi-level decks, kayaks, grill, trails, hammocks, and tubes - without the cost of the cabin. The cabin on the property will be vacant during camping stays, but you can still enjoy the WiFi and other amenities outside.
Pricing: $30-90/night camping; $190-280/night cabin - listed separately. Last minute bookings may have discounted rates. Camping bookings for 1 to 2 nights are sometimes available even if the calendar does not show availability (due to cabin cleaning days). We'll try to move our cleaning days around to help you out if possible. If the price looks really high (like $999), that is a date that is available at a low price ($30-50) but will have a later check-in or earlier check-out time. Located in beautiful Montgomery County, Arkansas; Montgomery County was formed on December 9, 1842, and named for Gen. Richard Montgomery, a hero of the American Revolution. Sixty-three percent of the county is national forest land.
We are a short scenic 12 mile drive from Little Missouri Falls, Bard Springs, and Albert Pike with area hiking trails, cascading waterfalls, and beautiful backroads. We are within 10 miles of the Caddo River and local canoe rental. Glenwood is 20 minutes away with gas stations, restaurants, and flea markets. Wegner Crystal Mine is located in Mt Ida, approx 40 minutes from our park. We are within a hour drive of Hot Springs; Bathhouse Row, Garvin Woodland Gardens, Mountain Tower, Crystal Ridge Distillery, Magic Springs, various tourist activities, restaurants and shopping. Mena is located within an hour drive of our park; Blue Zipline, restaurants, shopping.
Once a guest's books any of our sites, our Guest Terms and Conditions Waiver will need to be signed/agreed to this can be found on our website and will be sent via guest FIRST welcome email after guest books their site.
Waiver must be signed before guest entry is given into our park, no exceptions, due to our insurance constraints! We must receive our signed waiver no less than 7 days prior to your stay with us, which we will not repeatedly ask for, your stay will just be cancelled!
We may ask a few questions prior to accepting a booking request at our campground area, these are not ("maybe", "possibly", or generic answer’s that are needed) they are yes, no, and specific’s for your stay with us; if you do not wish to relay this information to us; then we kindly suggest you book your stay in another campground.
We are a privately owned park, we reserve the right to cancel a booking at our own discretion at any time; before booking, during booking; or during stay.
IMPORTANT River Usage: Southfork of the Caddo River is an extraordinary body of water and considered non-navigable; guest's may FLOAT down the MIDDLE of the creek for fishing, swimming, kayaking but must enter on our property, guest may not step out of the floating device on another person's private creek property and must remain in the floating device; during your stay guest's must stay within our private property creek footage for swimming or wading in the creek, if guest's encounter anyone along the river that does not allow this recreational activity please refer them to us, so we can refer it to the local game and fish department for investigation. It is always useful to carry your video camera with you so there is no he said, she said. We encourage our guest's to use the local lakes (Fancy Hill Lake, Lake Ouachita and Lake Greeson) and USFS streams for fishing and wading including the beautiful Little Missouri Falls.

We had an absolute blast camping out here this past weekend! Three of us came from St. Louis with two dogs, and met up here with our other two friends driving from Fort Worth. We had two cars, three tents, a ton of chairs and had MORE than enough space. The place was beautiful, primal, and Charles was a very helpful and responsive host. Our pups had the best time running around and rolling in the leaves, and us humans had a great time chilling by the fire and enjoying the view of the changing fall leaves and star-filled night sky! We didn’t have the chance to check out the lake, but we are going to try to make this meet-up a yearly thing at the amazing Fox Nook Campsite! If you are looking for a serene, primal camping experience, look no further than Charles’ place. 1 hour from Hot Springs NP, 10/10 experience, 100% FUN

A truly delightful place! So many thoughtful details like a porch swing by the river and adutch door on the rustic john so sunrise can be seen from the rustic throne. The privacy and quiet provided by the entire place being our own was grand. I've taken the baths at Hot Springs bathhouses and the outdoor bath at Thunder Mountain way surpassed them. Communication was great. The trails were wonderful. The entire property is well cared for . We heard two kinds of owls, saw hawks, an eagle and kingfishers. Saw three different kinds of lizards. I caught a large mouth bass and saw lots of fish hanging out in the clear waters.

This is a gravel parking lot that is sizable, has power hookups, has water hookup, and sewer hookup, and a huge shade tree.
This is in the city, so there is traffic constantly by the spot, but it is peaceful enough to get rest if you're traveling through, on the way to somewhere else.
Richard was a wonderful host, and actually met me at the spot to make sure that I could get in and situated. It was very appreciated.
Since I was parked under the shade tree for the proximity to the power hookup, my starlink barely worked because of the obstruction overhead. This is not the host's fault, it's just how it was, and I'm letting everyone know if you've got Starlink, this may be an impediment to your connection.
I got very good directions, and since Richard was present, I was on the phone with him when I pulled in, so everything went smoothly.

My husband and I stayed here 5 nights with our 3 dogs. It was well kept, peaceful, and just a stones throw from the lake! Charles, the host, is delightful as well. We will absolutely visit again. 10/10 would recommend!

Easy to search online, excellent price, great scenery, fantastic host. When rain threatened my stay my host allowed me to use a dry bed in the bunkhouse that was not occupied. Did a little fishing some metal detecting and filmed a river otter playing in river. Overall I was only guest and needed to peace and quiet to decompress after a very stressful few months.

Absolutely loved our stay! We hope to be back! Bath house was a great addition to the river experience. Water was hot and had good water pressure. My dog loved playing in the river and exploring the property. They had plenty of trails to explore and enjoy the peaceful scenery.

About
The birthplace of President Bill Clinton is an unassuming, two-story home in Hope, Arkansas. Well, technically, he was born at the hospital. But when his mother brought him home, it was to 117 South Hervey Street. The future 42nd President of the United States lived here until he was four, raised by his mother Virginia and his maternal grandparents.
Virginia Blythe was recently widowed. Bill’s father died in a car accident just three months before he was born on August 19th, 1946. Virginia named her son after her late husband, William Jefferson Blythe. Her parents helped care for Bill as she earned her nurse-anesthetist certification to support her son. Bill formed a strong bond with both grandparents during this time. He has said that his grandfather taught him more about equality than all his professors at Georgetown.
Visitors to the historic site find a humble house. Built in 1917, the American four-square is largely original. The house still has its hipped roof porch, paneled newel post and built-ins in the pantry. A non-profit acquired the home in 1994. None of the family’s furnishings remained, so the organization set about buying vintage pieces.
An old-fashioned Blackstone stove sits in the kitchen. A rotary phone rests on a side table. A narrow spindle bed with a Hopalong Cassidy bedspread stands in the tiny room that was Clinton’s. Some items are original to the family, including the numerous family photographs. More personal effects from Clinton’s life are on display next door at the Museum Exhibit Center.
The National Parks Service acquired the home in 2010 from The Clinton Birthplace Foundation. The property is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free, with guided tours every 30 minutes.
