Campers can relax down by the river on our lower field. Wide open sky to watch the stars, sunrises, and sunsets. Right on the Nechako river so wildlife can often be spotted, great for birdwatching especially! Depending on the season there is a lot of foraging that can be done as there are plenty of wild blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and more. The camping area is a big grass field so there is plenty of space for any type of camping. The drive down to the field is a bit bumpy so we wouldn't recommend a large motorhome try to go down there. As of now we have no amenities but hope to add some in the future. The beach and river can be used at camper's own risk.

Tour Canada’s largest collection of wooden buildings faithfully restored to the fur trade era. Spend the night in the historic Murray house warmed by a wood stove and memories of the family who lived here more than a century ago.

The best time to visit Fort St. James National Historic Site is from May 18 to September 1, when the site is fully operational from 9am to 5pm. The winter months offer a quieter experience, with self-guided walks and tours by appointment, showcasing the site's serene beauty amid the snow.
