Overview

About

Venture into the heart of Alberta's untamed wilderness at Willmore Wilderness Park. With over 750 km of trails, this park offers backcountry camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing. The park's vast landscapes invite seasoned adventurers to immerse themselves in a true backcountry experience, surrounded by ancient glaciers, towering peaks, and dense forests.

When to go

The best time to visit Willmore Wilderness Park is during the summer months when the weather is milder, and the trails are more accessible. However, be prepared for any weather, as frost can occur year-round. The park's harsh winters with long, cold periods are less ideal for visits, especially for those not experienced in winter backcountry travel.

  • For navigation, use official maps and do not rely solely on online map views.
