Come to the Pinecone to completely relax and disconnect (seriously you will because there is no cell service!). During Summer and much of Spring and Fall, you should be able to drive up to the cabin. Unless your vehicle has especially low clearance. The road/path out to the bunkie started as a well-made tractor path that has held up well over the years but has some rocks and bumps. Once through the gate it’s only a 1-minute drive to where you will park. This road may be a bit muddy! If you are looking for a Bunkie getaway, we would be happy to host you; please note the following: - If there has been a lot of snow the private road from the street to the Bunkie is not plowed. Depending on the type of vehicle you are driving, you may have to park at the gate entrance and walk in (4-5min walk) to get to the Bunkie. - There is a mini wood fireplace in the Bunkie for sleeping but depending on the temperature outside and/or the wind it still may be a little chilly. - There is lots of free wood available for an outside fire but we are sometimes low on small pieces to start fire or use for the mini fireplace. You can bring in your own extra kindling or bring own saw/axe to chop. - Bring your own extra blankets. DETAILS: Sleeping loft accessible by ladder comfortably sleeps 2. You'll have an outdoor fire pit, picnic table and 2 grills (we have lots of wood but you can bring your own charcoal for cooking). Enjoy watching the starts at night by the fire and visits from the abundant wildlife. There is 1 queen size bed in the loft for sleeping which is accessible by ladder. You will melt into the pillow-top mattress, luscious linens and don’t want to wake up heavenly pillows. Our well-appointed shared bathroom features a refreshing shower with both warm and cold water, ensuring you feel rejuvenated after a day of adventure. With running water readily available, you'll have everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Plus, our convenient tap located at the side of the washroom is easily accessible for all guests. There is a small table for 2 inside the bunkie or you can prep food and eat outside on the picnic table. A small fridge cooler is available to store any perishable food you may have. Bring your own ice. The bunkie has solar lighting for the evenings. If you don’t want to find your own firewood in the forest you can pick it up from locals on your way in for $5/bundle (see stands at the end of driveways). It is a big chunk of land but you can't really get 'lost' on it for any significant period of time. We are bounded by roads so eventually you will find your way. But, if you aren't experienced in the woods you may want to keep your wandering short, to start, as you get familiar with the land. Dog friendly!! We provide: • Bed linens and pillows • Toilet Paper • Small fridge to be used as cooler • Charcoal BBQ • BBQ Utensils • First Aid kit What to bring: • Drinking water • Coal (for grilling) • Food + anything required to prepare/eat your meals • Ice • Bug spray, sunscreen, etc • Garbage bagsThe perfect secluded countryside getaway for solos, couple or friends. Everything you'll need and nothing you don't including comfy bed, a beautiful view, outhouse and the great outdoors. Get in touch with nature and wildlife as you wander through the trails and 40 acre forested area. Sleeping loft accessible by ladder comfortably sleeps 2. You'll have an outdoor fire pit, picnic table and BBQ. Enjoy watching the starts at night by the fire and visits from the abundant wildlife. Dog friendly! Guest Access • You will have access to the entire bunkie and fire pit location with the surrounding outdoor space and parking. You are free to enjoy the trails but ask that you refrain from entering other bunkie spots, the farm fields or barns nearby. • There is approximately 40 acres of forest. We will be building more bunkies but they will be spread apart and you will have total have privacy! • 15 minutes from Port Dover or Simcoe – it’s the perfect retreat for a quick getaway. Very quiet and private. Nice accommodations. Helped us when we needed it. Had a bit of a hard time finding it. But it was past midnight. In the light I’m certain much easier.

Mother/Daughter Escape
The bunkie was clean and organized with the bed being soft. We managed to keep most bugs out but the door is sticky with the humidity, so always make sure you give it a gentle bum check and double check to make sure it latches. Lots of mosquitoes so be sure to pack your bug spray and Thermacell. We have two units, so we were actually able to create a lovely mosquito reduced zone around our camp fire. Overall, it was very peaceful and a pleasant stay where we could leave the world and other people behind. Please remember to respect the property. If you bring it in, bring it out. This includes water bottles, beer caps and cigarette butts. I just picked up a cheap dollar store butt bucket to bring with me because it is easy enough to use and take back away. We are responsible to the nature we are inhabiting, not the other way around, so we need to be kind to it and considerate of those who will stay after us.

The bunkie was super cute. Nice futon and small sitting area as you pwalk in and a very comfortable bed up the ladder in the loft. The outhouse was clean and the washroom just a minute walk away had a nice clean shower with warm water after a long day.

The cabin was secluded and comfortable, there were games, utensils for cooking and books. The firepit was great.

Our stay at The Pinecone cabin was wonderful. The cabin itself is very cute, the spacing between the cabins is great for people looking for a weekend retreat. The facilities are comfortable as well. I definitely recommend this place to anyone!

We loved the time here, we really enjoyed and disconnected from rushing life. If planning on visiting on cold nights, do not forget extra blankets and good pijamas.
