Easy quick access off the highway, Homestead Basecamp is your place to call home for the night. Close by to biking, kayaking, fishing, hiking, Ziplining and historic downtown Saluda, there is something for everyone. Should you want to explore further from your basecamp, Hendersonville is only 15 minutes away or 35 minutes for Asheville. I'm excited to share this wonderful area with you!Attention: If someone needs a spot to stay while helping those clean up for Hurricane Helene, please message me to stay at no cost. I’m currently still with out power, but it’s a level spot for someone to stay. Enjoy a level back in RV spot with supplied 15 amp power, wifi and water access to fill your tanks. Ample firewood will be supplied with a preset firepit. Close to the house if you need anything from me with easy access to the road to go out and explore. I am a new host and would love any honest feedback you can provide! Some specific things to note: Any trailer over 24ft I would recommend backing in from the road. Please be mindful of the driveway when arriving, if missed, you can turn around at Scout Camp Road just past the spot, full Semi trucks are able to turn around here. I have a 75ft extension cord available to use as shown in the photos, I'll have this connected upon your arrival unless you say otherwise. Hipcamp's wording isn't clear, Water available to fill your tank, not a permanent connection with out a 100ft+ hose.

Good people. We were there during the floods and got trapped. We got to know each other very well. Rocco was accommodating in every way he could be. And he has plans to improve his set up to make it easier for future guest.

Great spot

Convenient, quiet and wooded spot super close to hwy 26 making for a great place to stop for travels to/from Hendersonville. Communicative and helpful host accommodating to late arrival. Definitely will stay again.

This campground advertises its suitability for campers up to 36 feet, but my experience proved challenging. Maneuvering a 32-foot camper into the allocated space was a time-consuming task due to its tight dimensions. The instructions provided by the owners for parking were notably risky, suggesting a turnaround in a space where my truck, let alone a full travel trailer, couldn't safely navigate. The main access road also presents challenges, with numerous warnings against trailers. Missing the driveway could result in needing a tow truck for a turnaround or attempting a lengthy reverse, as I personally had to. While the designated spot is acceptable, it's crucial to bring a 200-foot electrical cord and an equally long hose for power and water access. This campground is more suitable for smaller boondocking-style campers, and caution is advised for rigs exceeding 25 feet.

Halloween Homebase

Rocco has the most perfectly located piece of paradise for my favorite area in North Carolina. I visit this area every year for Halloween and this year brought my RV. His location is right between my best friend's place, Grand Dad's Orachard and The Haunted Farm. It's perfect!! He has carved out a wonderful site with a fire pit and designated trash site. He made sure I had everything I needed and even brought out a wifi extender since the Verizon coverage in the are is spotty. The sunrise and sunset is absolutely magic there. I loved making my coffee every morning and mentally preparing myself for the day with such an amazing view. I felt completely safe as a solo female traveler and will 100% be back when I visit the area again. I highly recommend checking out Wildflour Bakery in Saluda for breakfast! There is also a farmers apple orachrd stand right be Rocco's place when you first head towards Saluda that has the BEST preserves.
