I found staying at Hillside Farmstay peaceful. Although not far off the road, the traffic noise wasn't noticeable. The horses are gorgeous and relaxing to watch as they graze and the foals were definitely amusing. 🐎
Dawn is a great host. She is easy to chat with, always checks in on her guests and is happy to help out when you're in a pickle (my vehicle broke down, so stayed 3 weeks). 😊
There is a toilet and a couple of showers, I liked the more outdoor shower myself....4 walls with no roof 😃
This is still a working place, so camping is limited to the front paddocks, but plenty of space to pick your spot.

We had a great time staying at hillside. There was only one other camper so plenty of room to set up. Much better than an over crowded van park. The outside shower was spacious with hot water to wash away the dirt from the day’s adventures. It’s close enough to town to experience what Tamworth has to offer but away from the hustle. Dawn took us for a drive around her property and we fed the horses and took in the views. Would recommend staying there.

This is a hard one. The host and the caretaker are lovely, the amenities are good, no questions here. Unfortunately it's nothing like on the photos, it was very dry basically bare ground, unlevel and rock hard (we were in a tent so that was a problem), with some horse poo and lots of ants, and no campfires allowed. It may be better a different time of year, or if you don't care about the above, then it's can be a good overnight stop with hot showers, especially for the price.

The kids gave it an unwavering 5 stars. Loved that they could watch the horses in the nearby paddock and pat them over the fence. Dawn kindly took us for a ride in the back of the ute to see the whole property and to meet the donkey. Caretaker, Mark, met us on arrival and was lovely and helpful. We had heaps of space, great access to shower and toilet and was close to Tamworth. Well worth the stay.

Ideal for 2 nights in the dry season. Very pleasant knowledgeable host is Dawn. If you know horses you have certainly gone to the right place.. shade is limited.

So friendly and helpful. Freedom of choosing own site and changing it if not to liking. Horse farm atmosphere with basic facilities. Three mornings a week with free coffee and donuts at 8am with chance to sit and chat with other campers. Very relaxed atmosphere. A lot of campers did not leave during day but spent time relaxing.

Level site 👍🏼. Outdoor shower a real treat.
Good sunsets from the lower area but can get noisy with passing traffic especially making unnecessary, immature noise honking horns late at night and early morning

Amazing views and sunsets! Gorgeous places to park up next to the horses who are very friendly! Owner was so lovely and offered us a map of the area and coffee and donuts in the morning. Good shower/toilet facilities and a spot to wash up. We will be back for sure!

We absolutely loved staying at Hillside Retreat with our two puppies, totally enjoyed the outdoor shower and the washing machine was truely appreciated also. The drive up to the top of the hill was excellent also and getting together for tea/coffee was excellent also meeting some of our neighbours. Thank you for your excellent hospitality Dawn 😁😁

Camping at Hillside met our expectations. Camp host Dawn was friendly and helpful. The campground had great facilities Loved the outdoor shower!! Toilets were clean. Really enjoyed the morning coffee and donuts at 8am! It was easy to get to Tamworth. Plenty of space and green grass. The campground was nice and quiet But, passing traffic was a bit annoying, especially in a rooftop tent. Nevertheless I am happy to recommend this property

We had a wonderful experience at Dawns. She was so accomodating and went above and beyond providing morning donuts whilst we were there. Portaloos during the festival were super well kept. Lots of space for everyone and such beautiful views of the surrounds. Perfect festival accommodation.

Dawns place was perfect for us! Close enough to Tamworth for the country music festival, but far enough away to get some peace when we needed it. Although it was busy, we felt we had plenty of space. Dawn took us for a drive on her property and showed us her horses. The view was spectacular!

Thank you for having us again (this was our 5th year staying here for TCMF. As always it was a pleasure to stay here, its nice and quiet and close to town. We highly recommend this place, and Dawn is very welcoming sharing her beautiful home.
See you again next year, the 3 girls in the tent & trailer - we camped down the bottom this year, and it's our new favourite spot!

Amazing.
Our Host Dawn was truly amazing and very welcoming.
The facilities were kept clean and tidy at all times.
The camping grounds well kept, and location easy to find.
Dawn took us on a Tour of the farm the old fashion way, something that our kids have never experienced. Dawn took us to the higest point and with that we experienced breath taking views of the surrounding areas of Tamworth.
If we could give a million star 🌟 we certainly would.
Thank you Dawn for your hospitality, we will certainly be returning😃🥰

Dawn, our host at Hillside welcomed us warmly. Both Dawn and her assistant were extremely helpful.
The name of the property should have alerted us to what the terrain would be, but we didn't realise the difficulty we would have trying to get the van level, there were only two yards available at the time with more opening up in time for the Tamworth Music Festival so there may have been more user friendly options available for those attendees.
We spent 3 nights, but found that was too long without supplementary power to the solar (38c), but that is on us, the high temperatures caught us by surprise!!

I pulled over here for a night. The outdoor shower was fabulous. The campsite is small, quiet and calm so it's a lovely place to unwind in. Dawn was really nice too.

Such a beautiful spot. The horses just made us all that more special. Amenities were perfect for what we needed. Dawn was so friendly. The sunrise over the hill was also very pretty. Would have been good to have more trees for shade though but we can see that some are still growing to create that in time.

Dawn (and Mark) were very welcoming and accommodating, camp is the perfect place to stop over for a few days and only just a few minutes outside Tamworth.
Amenities were more than adequate.
The view from the top of the hill is awsome and the horses love a pat!
Great spot we'll definitely be back.
