Sadly, we had to cancel our trip at short notice and attempted to get in contact with the host to change our dates. I was happy to pay the extra cost to do this however the host did not reply.

The Hideaway is a great, open, quiet riverside spot. Took the dog for a one night stay, very chilled, great to watch the skii boats. Really good communication and help with everything. Super hosts! Excellent location for exploring the best national parks, river bends, windy roads, fishing and lunch spots and ferry crossings. Did it all in one day, one night, will spend longer next time

Hawkesbury Hideaway was a great place to camp, it was comfortable, access to amenities and the hosts were amazing. We will definitely be coming back… I recommend for a weekend getaway…

Overall, the experience was great. John, the owner, was very accommodating and thoughtful—he even checked in to see how we were doing. He kindly lent me his toolkit to fix my broken tent, which I really appreciated.
The only downside was that there was just one toilet. Thankfully, there weren’t too many of us, so it wasn’t a major issue.

We had a wonderful stay at Hawkesbury Hideaway. The property is beautifully presented and clearly cared for with great attention to detail. Access to the river was effortless, and the calm water made it perfect for a relaxing swim. Toni ensured everything was seamless from a logistics perspective, and John thoughtfully checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we look forward to returning.

Beautiful soft green pastures to set up on. Ample space between camping groups. Direct access to the river for a refreshing swim or spot of fishing. Clean and well stocked toilet and shower facility. Recommend bringing shelter from the hot sun or in case of rain. Overall, really enjoyed this Hipcamp.

Perfect spot for a little getaway. 1.5 hours from south west Sydney.
The place is very grassy and has not dirt which was very nice as when it rained, it was not muddy.
Met John on arrival and he was very welcoming.
Access to the river was very easy.

What a fantastic spot right by the river . We stayed here a few weeks ago for a birthday celebration, and had the place almost to ourselves .
Hosts were very friendly and nothing too much trouble .
Facilities a little basic , only 1 toilet and shower in a small porta cabin . Could do with a make over , however they were clean and that’s what hip camps all about.
If there were a few camping there , could see it being a bit of an issue .
Overall brilliant stay and perfect for our celebration. Definitely recommend .

Toni and John were very welcoming hosts and their place was wonderful! The place was exactly as described on the listing and the facilities were well maintained. Beautiful spot, easy access for our 19 foot van, lots of fairly level areas and heaps of space. We were there Australia Day weekend and it was mainly families. You do need to take some care on the way in as there are some steep descents and tight turns but nothing too concerning.
Won’t be our last visit!

The grass camp area was well kept and mown. Access to the river was disappointing. An old boat ramp was all that was available so we wouldn’t recommend this place if you want to swim. Ok for canoeing but heaps of ski boats so not good for paddle boarding. Bush and bamboo obstructed river views for most sites.

Our campsite was situated beside the river, and well maintained. Even though we shared the space with another couple, the ambiance remained peaceful, affording us a sense of seclusion.. One of the highlights of our stay was the chance to enjoy a nighttime campfire while gazing up at the stars. We craved a short getaway to pause and unwind, it was exactly what we got. The hosts were remarkably friendly and accommodating. Thank you for sharing your space with us

We enjoyed our caravan stay at the Hawkesbury Hideaway despite being the hottest weekend of the year. Easy access to the river for a dip for us and the pups kept us sane, and access to power for aircon in our caravan kept us cool at night.
Easy drive to Wiseman’s Ferry and historic St Albans kept it interesting.
Nice grassy area and a few spots under trees for shade, and some nice views of the river as well. Very spacious so able to accommodate a few campers without overcrowding.
Toni was easily contactable and helpful to get us settled in.

We loved our stay at this campsite on the Hawkesbury River. We brought our two miniature dachshunds and felt it was very safe and dog-friendly. Beautiful natural surrounding with birds, trees, and a peaceful landscape made it a perfect getaway. Would definitely stay again.
