Camey was very responsive abd compassionate about the fact that, unfortunately I needed to cancel last minute because of illness. I was looking forward to my visit AND trying the spring water however, it will need to wait until next time. Camey graciously refunded me and that, in my book, is going above and beyond!

Abandoned, not a real Hipcamp!
Tent
I think this campsite is abandoned?? When we got there there was barbed wire over the entrance and a real estate sign. All the facilities showed signs of being overgrown and unattended. Nobody was there to greet us and the booking acceptance received an automated reply only. Do not book here!

I wasn’t able to stay for my entire reservation, Camey was very kind to refund me. The area is beautiful where her camp is. Her communication was clear and kind. I hope to revisit this site again. As expected I didn’t have cell service as I got into the area. So make sure to screenshot the site information beforehand because the app likely won’t load. And download those offline maps. Also be aware that it’s a ~2 mile gravel road leading to this property. If you’re looking for an “off-the-beaten-path” experience I would highly recommend.

Camey was super helpful. The site was clean with fire pit and lots of options for sleeping. Wish we could have stayed longer. It’s really beautiful country.

The camp spot was definitely a site for sore eyes! After what seemed like endless flat dry miles we came to a lush green nook where Camey greeted us. We got a quick tour of cool things to explore like the cactus studded rock overlook and were turned loose. The kids loved the wild trails and the sunset was amazing. The tipi was clean and cozy and the cots were an unexpected bonus. If I can figure out the better way to arrive and leave, I will come back lol! Take Camey's directions, not google maps.

Beautiful spot to camp
Tent
Beautiful spot nestled in a small canyon overflowing with greenery. Camey generously took the time to give me a walking tour of the camp pointing out interesting details of the rock formations and all the medicinal plants. I had the place to myself… except for a very cute black bear which I happened to see as I was hiking. Not to worry, the bear didn’t come into the camp. It seemed very happy staying in it’s own canyon about a half mile away
