One acre swimming pond with multiple rustic campsites, common areas include the beach and group firepit. 122 acres with long entrance drive that situates campers next to "Lake Leland" as we refer to the pond. Absolutely no Glass permitted on property! Generators are permitted. A creek crosses the back portion of the property with several trails intersecting.
Excellent place to camp, I tent camp when I travel and it was peaceful and primitive. Close to town, great host, nice lake. I loved it and, would camp there again.
Very nice campsite, very private and peaceful. The pond is very pretty but a bit of a walk from site A. There was a picnic table present and trees good for hammocking.
We loved staying at Chip's campsite. Very clean and well organized! He came to greet us once we arrived, very good host. We loved the silence that was there, absolutely beautiful! The pond was the top of our Joy, beautiful water colors and very clean, ready for a swim! ♥️ it was nice to even do some fishing for fun, and to spend time in the sun on the narrow beach.
Plenty of wood in the forest, it kept us busy😊
Thank you for having us, we felt lucky to be there for a long weekend!
We had a great time camping on Chip's land. Our site (A) was tucked away a good distance from the other sites on the property. The ground was soft and perfect for setting up a tent- pine needles, grass & moss growing over very sandy soil. My 3 yr old boys loved fishing and swimming at Lake Leland- I've never seen so many baby blue gill! We would have loved to explore the trails a little more but we had our very old dog along and he can't hike much anymore. Our site had a fire pit and a picnic table. We would definitely stay here again if in the area! The nearby (20 min) Island park had an amazing playground, cool bridge over a small waterfall, splash pad, skate park and more.
The site was very secluded, and it is a nice quiet location. It is a little distance to the public porta-john and pond. The pond looked nice for fishing, or floating in a kayak, but didn't look inviting for swimming due to the mucky bottom and abundant weeds. If you're just looking for the isolation of a private site, this is perfect.
