Wooded area, good for hammock camping or tent camping. Set up then enjoy a camp fire while you sit back and breathe fresh air. Or how about walk in a very woody area. Great place to bring older children to introduce them to primitive camping world. Close to town (4 miles) if you need to get a last minute item.Section 1 Sunshine Circle (open area for tents or 2 sites for small campers) Section 2 Canopy of Trees ( more wooded can be used for hammocks or tents) Section 3 Ligneous Over Load (more for the adventure walking, 8 foot lookout deck with a porta potty/ changing room underneath.) Section 4 The Alley way ( for tents) You have to walk through all sections to get there. This piece of property is long and narrow. You will walk by campers. No camping on trail by coulee. Pick your spot. Set up small campfire. (Firewood and small burn pit available). Walk through the woods or walk on an elevated nature trail along a coulee as you enjoy the peace and quiet. This nature adventure does have poison ivy, bugs, mosquitoes, snakes and what ever else comes with nature. Be careful of little tree stumps, sticks or vines as you walk. Be mindful of dead tree branches that can fall. The town is 4 miles away. This is a great way to see if camping is your thing.

We loved our stay at Susan’s. The family welcomed us and showed us to a good spot ( because there was some puddles from an unusual amount of rain. ) She offered to bring us a fire pit! It was a peaceful night… just what we needed!

I was passing thru on my way West in February '25, and arrived as the sun was setting. The South had just had lots of snow and rain, but Susan directed me to a dry spot where I could camp for the night. It was quiet, pleasant, and safe. Would definitely return!

Great customer experience

I wasn't able to make it to Susan's camping spot because of some last minute logistical challenges. I let Susan know and she offered to honor my reservation for the next day. I still couldn't make it, so she refunded me without me asking for it. The circumstances that led to my missed booking were stressful and Susan's professionalism and customer experience struck a cord with me. I will certainly be back to camp at Susan's.
