There are unpowered campsites next to the river but the amenities are about a 300m walk. We have a couple of horses, a few chooks and lots of avian wildlife live on the property. Peaceful and with abundant trees. Hot water shower, flushing toilet and 10 amp power available at the sites next to the amenities. Good access for caravans and all types of vehicles. Dogs or other pets not accepted. No campfires, total fire bans often in place here.

Located just outside of Bendemeer, our property features 21 peaceful acres with frontage to the beautiful McDonald River and a nice flat shaded area for camping. This is the perfect getaway spot to relax, complete with platypus, wombats and amazing bird life, fishing for trout and yellow belly. Lots of kayaking and swimming in summer, and plenty in winter too if you're brave!). We're around 30 mins from Tamworth where you can find all the supermarkets and supply stores to meet your camping gear needs, and there's lots of great cafes and restaurants too. Power is available if required but not next to the river. Camp next to the river (4WD access only) with your tent or rooftop set up or park uphill overlooking the river with your caravan or motor home, it's only a little further away (100 metres) with power available. Campfires allowed at both locations ( fire season permitting) you will need to bring your own wood. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/ shower. Rain water is available for campers and caravans as required, and there is access to rubbish facilities. Your well behaved pet is welcome to camp with you.

A fully equipped camp kitchen and hot showers and toilets made our experience so much better. A cattle ranch with horses made the country experience. Country photos every angle. Absolutely lovely camp site that we would definitely recommend! There's no designated spots, but we were lucky as there was only us and one other set of campers that were there for the night, and the site is big enough that we were far away from each other and never heard them (or could even see them as we set our camp up facing the water). The site was beautiful, with so many birds around (and the odd rogue cow that came to say hello), with an amazing sunset as a bonus. I'd definitely book a stay here again!

We had a great stay at Debrah’s. The paddock was well kept and we loved our view over the landscape, watching the flocks of birds. We were lucky to have a clear still night under an amazing canopy of stars. Incredible! The two flushing toilets were clean and well maintained. Debrah showed us the goats a their week old kids, so adorable.

We loved our time at Ranjen Farm. Jenny and Frank (and the cat!) were such welcoming hosts with time for a chat even on a busy Christmas Eve. It was very special to be able to pat the horses. Very clean facilities. Definitely recommended for a quiet and comfy stay.

An historic venue and an interesting tale in revival, the Tamworth Showgrounds have evolved over the last century to be the impressive event space that it is today. Originally used as an army training camp, the showgrounds have been transformed several times throughout its history.
