Hunters Spread Farmstay is located in the Victorian High Country nestled in between Yackandandah and Myrtleford. The region offers towns and villages with history and heritage, galleries and museums, health, wellness and Spas, breweries, wineries, restaurants, cafes, Milawa Cheese Factory, lookouts and waterfalls, swimming, paddling, fishing, walking and hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and cycling. Hunters Spread is only 30 minutes drive to Mt Buffalo perfect for skiing, snowboarding and snow play in the colder months. A great place to bring your horse to explore Hunters Spread bushland, Mt Big Ben, Mt Jack and Mt Buffalo national park. Whilst our horse yards are being built, we can offer a safe and secure laneway for your horses to be kept for $10 per horse per night. Waivers are in place and will need to be signed prior to any riding on the property. The farm offers a campsite with brand new accessible amenities including hot shower (limited). Firepits are permitted and wood will be provided (depending on fire restrictions in place at the time of booking). We welcome pets on leashes, but they must be under control at all times by owners and cleaned up after. We ask that you organise and confirm any animals coming to the farm prior to booking by message. The powered camp site can cater up to 50 people. $50.00 per person per night (except children under 10 years old). All persons under 18 years of age are to be supervised whilst on the farm. Alternatively, for people not wanting to camp out or those with caravans or RV’S we have a site in close proximity to a 20 x 9 mtr shed, powered with concrete slab. The powered shed site is $50.00 per person per night. Hunters Spread is approximately 3.5 hours from Melbourne. The farm is approximately 30 minutes drive to Beechworth, Bright and Lake Buffalo and about 50kms to Albury Wodonga. Please note that our summers are hot, and our winters are cold - so please pack accordingly.

We had a fantastic stay on the property over a few nights. The place is vast in nature, great views, is nice and quiet and with clean and new facilities. There are farm animals around and even a fresh supply of eggs! Our hosts Ally & Shane were very kind and thoughtful, making sure we were comfortable throughout the entire stay. Thank you so much, and would highly recommend!!

Great location literally just out side of town, a lovely paddock with plenty of flat spots and space, there were 4 set ups over Easter and you didn’t know the others were there. One note and said jokingly but someone needs to shoot the neighbours rooster, it clearly hasn’t heard of daylight saving.

Weekend Trip to Mountain Solace

We really enjoyed our stay at Mountain Solace. Beautiful scenery by day and no light pollution at night, which made for perfect stargazing conditions. The host Woz, is fantastic and friendly. He stopped for a chat after dropping firewood off for us. Our site wasn't the flattest but we did find enough level ground for our large tent and we set up our camp kitchen in the old dairy.

Weekend Trip to Hunters Spread Farmstay

Our farm stay was just what we needed for a short getaway over the long weekend. The farm was perfect for us-clean flush toilets, hot showers, and most of all, an incredibly accommodating host. We even got to collect fresh eggs straight from the chook pen for free! We stayed for two nights in a roof top tent with our two dogs and had a wonderful time. Definitely recommending this to friends and looking forward to coming back. Thanks, Ally!

Ally and Shane were amazing! Great views and very accommodating. The kids got to collect and keep the chicken eggs. Shower and toilet were very clean. Kids got to sit on the horses and Shane gave us meat to try catch yabbys in the dam (didn’t catch anything unfortunately). They gave us fresh cucumbers and offered up fresh herbs. Showed us some great river spots. One suggestion for campers, pick the flat sand part to camp on. Silly us picked the grassy area that’s not as flat but we made it work easy enough, and we did have the best view of the mountains and sunset! Thank you again ally and Shane, you guys were amazing and we had a great time. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful day at Hunters Spread farmstay! It was a perfect stop during our travels. We got to meet the sweet dog, Hunter, which was a highlight! The facilities were excellent, with a clean bathroom and shower, which were much appreciated after a long drive—especially the hot water! Thank you, Ally, for your warm hospitality. Nat was lovely and helpful. The location is close to the main street and caravan parks and a Shell/Coles servo close by as well. The caravan park was about the same cost but without the charm of a paddock, horses at the fence plus there are no caravan park 'roamers' 🙂 Grass was high and Nat is still making caravan friendly so vans over 25ft 'may' need to check with Nat before booking.
