Chris is an engineer, antique restorer and artisan working from home. I am an actor and artist working in metal, clay and paint. I'm inspired by my flower garden and the bush that frames it. Aireys inlet is a unique tiny town with so much to do. Mountain biking is a must in the area, with thousands of tracks available right outside the back door. If you have your own horse you can bring it along on holiday with you, we have paddocks available and there are so many gorgeous tracks around to ride on and beach riding at low tide and the right times is a bucket list item! The location itself is 17 acres and is next to the Painkallac creek in a peaceful bush setting. This location used to be a horse riding school which is now not running but has been converted to offer camping, caravan and RV parking. It’s only 1.5 km from the beach and the Otway national park is right on your doorstep. If you have bikes, horses or love to hike or run, or just laze on the beach, it’s a perfect location, be ready to be spoilt as there are so many tracks on offer in our stunning local beach and bush land. The local town of aireys inlet has plenty to offer, a general store for all your essentials, loads of places to eat out for breakfast, lunch or dinner and only 1 3/4hrs from Melbourne. No need to stress if you don’t want to be near anyone else, this is a small setting so it’s very private and its only got one space to rent so that you have peace and quiet. If you do have friends and want to book a double space please just message me and I can open up another space for you. I also have an option to add a pottery class for you, the cost is $50 a person for a two hour session. Look forward to seeing you at our cosy country and coastal retreat.

Aireys inlet is a unique tiny town with so much to do. The local beach is iconic for surfing and swimming, the local creek is a favourite at the inlet for young kids to swim or for canoeists to have somewhere quiet to paddle. Mountain biking is a must in the area, with thousands of tracks available right outside the back door. If you have your own horse you can bring it along on holiday with you, we have paddocks available and there are so many gorgeous tracks around to ride on and beach riding at low tide and the right times is a bucket list item! The location itself is 17 acres and is next to the Painkallac creek in a peaceful bush setting. This location used to be a horse riding school which is now not running but has been converted to offer camping, caravan and RV parking. It’s only 1.5 km from the beach and the Otway national park is right on your doorstep. If you have bikes, horses or love to hike or run, or just laze on the beach, it’s a perfect location, be ready to be spoilt as there are so many tracks on offer in our stunning local beach and bush land. The local town of aireys inlet has plenty to offer, a general store for all your essentials, loads of places to eat out for breakfast, lunch or dinner and only 1 3/4hrs from Melbourne. No need to stress if you don’t want to be near anyone else, this is a small setting so it’s very private and its only got one space to rent so that you have peace and quiet. If you do have friends and want to book a double space please just message me and I can open up another space for you. I also have an option to add a pottery class for you, the cost is $50 a person for a two hour session. Look forward to seeing you at our cosy country and coastal retreat.

My partner and I had a great time camping at Bay Park. The grounds were lovely we stayed down the far end which made you feel like you were in the woods. It was peaceful and relaxing. The new toilet/shower block was clean the toilet down near us was a little dated but all added to the rustic feel. The staff were amazing, shout out to Michelle for being so friendly and accommodating we will definately be back. Also the beach/shops are an hour walk and there is also an hourly bus outside the campsite if you don’t drive.

Awesome spot! We loved camping at Bay Park! Great camping ground layout under the tree with very good toilet and shower block amenities, park benches and some power points for charging phones and equipment in places and fire pits available for camp fires. Excellent location not far at all to drive to Mount Martha beach and nearby cafes and services. Very friendly and welcoming hosts, at a great price. Will definitely be back, and highly recommend!

Great camping spot, 10 min drive from Mount Martha South beach and in a nice park. The toilet and showers were better than expected and the rangers were super friendly and helpful. Fire camps are permitted as long as the weather allows and there’s potable water on site. Only thing to note is that the Site E has a slight inclination which is not ideal for setting camp up, but it isn’t a dealbreaker.

Bay Park’s land is peaceful and spacious, with a lovely natural setting that makes it a great place to relax and unwind. Overall, the stay was nice and enjoyable. One small issue was that one of the toilet near the campsite could not be opened by my husband, and in another toilet the lock was not working, which was a bit inconvenient. It would also be great if there was an open kitchen area available where campers could cook some basic meals. Apart from these minor points, we had a pleasant stay and appreciated the calm environment. Thank you

Where to go

Jan Juc

Set between Torquay and Bells Beach (of Rip Curl Pro surfing championship fame), Jan Juc fronts onto a fabulous surf beach, though surf and conditions are rougher here. From Jan Juc, you can drive to Bells Beach without reconnecting with the Great Ocean Road and also hit nearby Anglesea and Lorne. Don’t miss the area’s spectacular limestone cliffs and rock formations.

Bellarine Peninsula

This is a perfect place to spend the day before you head south from Torquay, along the Great Ocean Road. Beach walks, historic lighthouses, wineries, and gourmet eateries are in many of the villages on the circuit: Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove, Point Lonsdale. and Queenscliff.

When to go

Given Torquay’s large permanent population, the township is well serviced, and you can visit at any time of year. The Bells Beach surf championship takes place around Easter and brings in big crowds, so it’s best to reserve ahead then and in the summer months. Spring and February are great times to visit, as this is when temperatures start to warm.

Know before you go

  • It can get windy around Torquay—bring warm weather gear, even in summer.
  • Torquay is the perfect base to stock up on groceries, especially before trips along the Great Ocean Road. (Prices tend to get higher the further you go along the route.)
