Lovely campsite and Kate and fam are great hosts. Super close to great walks and of course the Noojee Hotel. One for the animal lovers and very clean facilities.

Weekend Trip to Millers Farm "The Hills are alive"

Great stay with two young kids. Kate and Darren are super generous with their time and property - taking the time to show us and the kids all the animals. Kids loved feeding the alpacas, goat and horses. Meanwhile we got to camp right next to sheep, chickens and ducks. Toilet was super clean and owners had fire wood for purchase (super useful when you run out!). Highly recommend this spot for any type of camper but particularly for those seeker a quieter option. Toilet was super clean and while we didn’t need the camp kitchen it’s absolutely an amazing addition for those without caravans (fridge, toaster, kettle, tea, coffee and a fridge!).

We loved camping here. Kate and Darren were great hosts, very friendly and took the kids to meet and feed the animals which they loved. Beautiful location and wonderful place to camp, highly recommend.

1 night at Millers Farm "The Hills are alive"

Kate and Darren are super friendly and easy to talk to. We really appreciated how much effort they put into the farm and looking after all the animals! The location is great, not far from the M1. Once you get off the M1, the drive to the farm is really simple and not stressful at all. Plus, the scenery is really nice. The facilities are awesome! I think the toaster, kettle, and even the toilet were cleaner than the ones at my own house, not joking! And we really like the idea of having the camp kitchen next to our tent, make our setup way easier! There are so many chances to meet the animals and check out the area. Since we booked last minute, we didn’t have time to explore nearby places, but we’ll definitely be back. I’d definitely recommend coming again, maybe with a few other families so you can have the whole campsite together. It’s perfect for kids and makes camping so easy and fun, with many great memories. We have two kids ourselves, and it was just perfect for our family. And of course, Kate and Darren are wonderful hosts!

Weekend Trip to Banksia Park Estate

Lovely well maintained spot, wished we could have stayed longer. Tracy responded quickly to messages prior to booking. Checked on us once we were set up to make sure we were happy. Walking distance from the New Haven shops. Great views over Churchill Island & beyond. Swamp wallabies at the bottom of the property intrigued the boys but the horses were a favourite with them. Definitely recommend this property.

2 nights at Castella River Farm

We really enjoyed our time at Castella River Farm. Carly was very helpful in providing all necessary information on where to go and how to get to our spot in the River Camp and providing an unobtrusive, comfortable stay. The kids particularly enjoyed being close to the river and were lucky enough to spot a platypus in the wild. Being able to feed the horses in their space was great too. The property was lovely and easily accessible with a clean and well set up camp site in the middle of nature. I had an extremely relaxing time, especially with the added security of not being completely alone in the wild with myself and two kids in tow. So much so that I took the kids home and came back for a night on my own. Thank you for sharing your space with us.

Weekend Trip to Fowkes Family Flower Farm

The views from Fowkes farm were lovely and it was so peaceful. Tamara wasn't there but her mum Debbie and husband Dan were very helpful. The compost toilet was clean and smell-free.

3 nights at Inverloch - Bunurong Country

Camping at Brooke’s private beach escape was really easy and enjoyable. The land was beautiful and the area of Inverloch and Wonthaggi was stunning. Only a 10 min drive from either town it’s in a perfect location. Everything you need at the campsite was there - table, chair, bins, flat ground, access to water and even a very friendly and adorable golden retriever popped in for a short visit (which worked out well as she kept our Goldie happy!) Will definitely book again and recommend to mates.

Fabulous site with everything we needed. The camp shelter, log seating and clean composting toilets were just perfect. The site itself is beautiful, open, nicely mowed and so serene. Rob is a great host - super nice guy and responsive and helpful. Definitely will be back. Thanks so much Rob!

Kinglake East End

91 Gordons Bridge Road was once part of a pine plantation that had been planted in the late 60's and harvested just prior to the Black Saturday fires. Across the road from the Kinglake National Park, it is surrounded by protected flora and fauna. Victoria's Pink heath, wattles and tea tree provide a pleasant backdrop in season. It is not an uncommon site to see an echidna or two on the property, with black wallabies, kangaroos and wombats often seen grazing on pasture in the evening. The mud turrets are the home of endangered land yabbies and Lyrebirds have been seen in the area. Feral deer have come to inhabit nearby properties and sometimes wonder down the track. Birds watchers will enjoy a variety of bird life that inhabit the area including eagle hawks, fairy wrens, kookaburras, rosellas, parrots and yellow tailed black cockatoos when in season. The area is a popular spot for hikers with the start of the Mountain Creek trail only a few kms down Gordons Bridge Road and serious cyclists train regularly, on Mount Slide, especially on the weekend. For the serious wine lover the property is within 15km of the Yarra Valley Wine Growing area with many wineries offering tastings.

This low-lying mound of hills is a truly ancient upwelling of granite, having formed more than 350 million years ago. Our farm is only a minutes' drive from the township of Kinglake. Or a 20-minute easy walk to shops and cafes. We are close to all the Yarra Valley and Kinglake Ranges have to offer from wineries to the National Parks for hiking, biking and 4WD driving. Fowkes family farm is a small, hobby, flower farm. Opening during Protea season for pick your own flowers and sheep feeding. Made up of 15 acres of working land and 35 acres of bush land. We have a 2-acre orchard with seasonal fruit available to be picked. ( Feb - April) The farm has over 100 king protea bushes and many other varieties of protea. Seasonal pick your own flowers too. ( Aug - Jan) Backing onto the national park and walking tracks. Jehoshaphat Gully, Shelley Harris Track, Mt Jerusalem Track. Walking distance to Kinglake historic walk, Cookson Hill Track, Mt Everard Track, Bollygum Park. Visit Mason Falls Waterfall, 12-minute drive to Kinglake West. We have 2 dogs, 6 pet sheep and 4 lambs, 2 blue tongue lizards The farming area is completely fenced in, this is to keep the deer out, but you can venture out onto the property bush land with the correct map and navigation equipment. Our walk the neighboring farm (105 acres) Eagles, cockatoos, black cockatoos, kookaburras, magpies, rosellas, king parrots, Gang-gang cockatoo, honey eaters can be spotted most days and lyrebirds if you’re keen to go looking. Small playground with swings, slide, monkey bars and sandpit. Taxi service - The Graceful-Goat to get you around to the local eats and wineries. The Kinglake market is on the 4th Sunday of each month 10-2pm except December which is the Sunday before Christmas - twilight 2-7pm No market in January. The St. Andrews market is every Saturday, 9am to 1pm just 12 minutes down the mountain. Whittlesea market is on every Monday 9am - 1pm We manage 2 sites on our farm & 2 sites on the neighboring farm

Castella River Farm is an 8 acre property with many natural features including Mountain Ash trees and bushland near the camp sites. The Yea river runs behind the property and camping areas. Locally we are close to all the Yarra Valley and Kinglake Ranges have to offer from wineries to the National Parks for hiking. We are 10 minutes from Kinglake township and 15 mins to Yarra Glen, which means a quick trip if you need supplies. The highway is close by which makes it handy to get out and about. Wildlife we have seen on the property includes Wallabies, Echidna, and an abundance of bird life. Laugh with the Kookaburras at sunset. Dogs are welcome however due to wildlife and the bush location, we ask that you please keep them on a lead at all times. If you are planning on bringing a dog with you, please let us know in advance. We also have horses (separate from the campsite) that campers can feed a carrot if they wish! Water is available from our stables water tank. It is Tank water so not crystal clear but think of it as euculyptus tea! NB: **We do have neighbours and the highway near by so there will be some noise . Would suit campers who want to kick the footy, wade in the river and maybe go 4wding or out and about fishing. Ok to play your own music near the camp fire as you are far enough away down the back paddock! **Not suited to those wanting to be in the middle of nowhere

Leave the noise of the city behind and travel to Noojee, a town named after the Aboriginal word for contentment or place to rest. Surrounded by lush native bush and towering tree ferns, this picturesque town on the Latrobe River sits on the main access route to the ski fields of Mt Baw Baw and is home to a wide range of heritage and natural attractions. The property consists of 5 acres with a river, so you can set up a tent right next to the river and fish for dinner. The house is about 100 meters away from the camping area, but there are about 1000 Oregon trees that are 50 years old, so you can't see each other well, so you can enjoy nature freely. 4WD is recommended for easy access. We recommend tents/swags. 4WD with Heavy trailer is still very hard to enter when it is wet. Guests will have access to a toilet throughout their stay. There is a communal fire pit available, so guests can enjoy a campfire on the cool evenings. Please abide by any local fire restrictions during your stay. You can walk from my house to Noojee Heritage Centre, Trestle Bridge, Alpine Trout Farm, and Noojee Hotel for a delicious pizza, Cool beer from tool sheed and coffee from red duck cafe. You can drive to Toorongo Falls, Ada Tree in 10 minutes and Baw Baw Ski Resort in 40 minutes.

FIRE PLAN In the event of high fire danger periods our campers may be asked to evacuate the property for their safety. Instructions will be provided prior. In the event of fires in surrounding areas, it may be necessary to cancel a future booking and or evacuate the site at short notice, this will be reimbursed by Hipcamps. Campers will be notified in the event of total fire bans, this mean no outside fires.
