Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds. This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, a clear campground, and plenty of wildlife. The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non-4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. Which is part of the appeal! We welcome self-contained campers, who bring their own toilet and take all waste with them. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy. Or choose to stay in our beautiful A-frame cabin, with plush bedding, cozy fire, and outdoor lounge. More than anything else this is a place to relax and be away from normal, live outside yourself, and rediscover what weekends are for.  Dogs are welcome, so long as they don't bother the wildlife. Campfires are allowed, BYO firewood or campers can collect fallen timber from the property.

Clear Springs is a very special spot, offering sweeping views over rolling hills, and across to the ocean. King Island lighthouse is visible on clear nights, and there are koalas and wallabies in abundance. Whilst we require you to BYO toilet, we do have hot shower, woodfired hot-tub, power, water and phone reception. The site is all-weather access, and is just a 7-minutes drive to the Apollo Bay township. Once you catch your breath after initially taking in the sweeping, majestic ocean views, you can find a spot to pitch your tent or park your van. You drive in through a locked farm gate into the fenced camp area. There is not an abundance of flat area, so may not suit if you need large level space. We don't accept multiple bookings, so the space is all yours. You can choose from a few different spots with near-level ground (choose grass or gravel). The site is open to the amazing ocean views to the south yet the area is nestled among mature trees to give privacy and shelter. There are very few houses dotted around the area and not a single busy road within earshot. There is 240v mains power (BYO lead and plug into switchboard). And a tank with spring water (natural and untreated, we've been drinking it for years) and a pressure pump (BYO hoses as needed). There is an outdoor gas-heated shower. We also have a woodfired hot tub available for guests, BYO firewood. Our listing is intended for people looking for a private, tranquil and well-serviced camping area with several bonuses such as power, water, telstra reception, and a hot tub (BYO firewood). And no other guests to worry about. It's much more than a patch of grass! But please BYO toilet - this is mandatory - and leave no trace to allow other people to enjoy the beauty of our property. After our purchase in 2000, we turned it into a self-sufficient paradise, always welcoming visitors to come and enjoy the land with us. Our BYO campsites are near the river where you can reconnect with nature amongst the tall trees. Kanukadale is a working Nature Retreat Sanctuary, so additional to BYO campsites, we also offer our Bell Tents when the retreats are not running. Here at Kanukadale, you will share the space with very friendly horses, ponies, miniature goats and our donkey. The property is child friendly as the boundary, river and paddocks are well fenced. You can do as much or as little as you want during your stay. Be sure to check out our awesome animal focussed activities that we offer here. You can find them under Experiences. You are welcome to bring your own horses and dogs. Dogs must stay on a lead whilst on the property and responsible pet ownership is essential here, as is a respectful attitude towards all the other sentient beings on the property. We do not allow generators here. There is lots to do in the area with heaps of nature immersion. East Gippsland is one of the most bio-diverse areas on mainland Australia. You can explore rare, Old Growth forest, historic gold mines, climb to the peak of Mt Ellery and walk through the Errinundra Plateau. Mountain bike riding, horseriding, 4wd touring and bushwalking is awesome in this area. There is a camp kitchen with a communal fridge, microwave, stove and electricity. Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds. This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, a clear campground, and plenty of wildlife. The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non-4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. Which is part of the appeal! We welcome self-contained campers, who bring their own toilet and take all waste with them. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy. Or choose to stay in our beautiful A-frame cabin, with plush bedding, cozy fire, and outdoor lounge. Clear Springs is a very special spot, offering sweeping views over rolling hills, and across to the ocean. King Island lighthouse is visible on clear nights, and there are koalas and wallabies in abundance. Whilst we require you to BYO toilet, we do have hot shower, woodfired hot-tub, power, water and phone reception. The site is all-weather access, and is just a 7-minutes drive to the Apollo Bay township. Once you catch your breath after initially taking in the sweeping, majestic ocean views, you can find a spot to pitch your tent or park your van. You drive in through a locked farm gate into the fenced camp area. There is not an abundance of flat area, so may not suit if you need large level space. We don't accept multiple bookings, so the space is all yours. You can choose from a few different spots with near-level ground (choose grass or gravel). The site is open to the amazing ocean views to the south yet the area is nestled among mature trees to give privacy and shelter. There are very few houses dotted around the area and not a single busy road within earshot. There is 240v mains power (BYO lead and plug into switchboard). And a tank with spring water (natural and untreated, we've been drinking it for years) and a pressure pump (BYO hoses as needed). There is an outdoor gas-heated shower. We also have a woodfired hot tub available for guests, BYO firewood. Our listing is intended for people looking for a private, tranquil and well-serviced camping area with several bonuses such as power, water, telstra reception, and a hot tub (BYO firewood). And no other guests to worry about. It's much more than a patch of grass! But please BYO toilet - this is mandatory - and leave no trace to allow other people to enjoy the beauty of our property. After our purchase in 2000, we turned it into a self-sufficient paradise, always welcoming visitors to come and enjoy the land with us. Our BYO campsites are near the river where you can reconnect with nature amongst the tall trees. Kanukadale is a working Nature Retreat Sanctuary, so additional to BYO campsites, we also offer our Bell Tents when the retreats are not running. Here at Kanukadale, you will share the space with very friendly horses, ponies, miniature goats and our donkey. The property is child friendly as the boundary, river and paddocks are well fenced. You can do as much or as little as you want during your stay. Be sure to check out our awesome animal focussed activities that we offer here. You can find them under Experiences. You are welcome to bring your own horses and dogs. Dogs must stay on a lead whilst on the property and responsible pet ownership is essential here, as is a respectful attitude towards all the other sentient beings on the property. We do not allow generators here. There is lots to do in the area with heaps of nature immersion. East Gippsland is one of the most bio-diverse areas on mainland Australia. You can explore rare, Old Growth forest, historic gold mines, climb to the peak of Mt Ellery and walk through the Errinundra Plateau. Mountain bike riding, horseriding, 4wd touring and bushwalking is awesome in this area. There is a camp kitchen with a communal fridge, microwave, stove and electricity. We loved our stay at Fiona’s land! The view of the ocean and rolling hills was incredible. The hot outdoor shower was soo nice and really appreciated after a hike in the nearby Otways national park. There is an abundance of birdlife as well so don’t forget to take your binoculars 🙂

This was our second time staying at Earth Edge, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The setting is absolutely beautiful ,peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to switch off and recharge. The animals on the property are very friendly, and it’s such a dog-friendly space. Our two dogs absolutely loved it, and we felt completely at ease knowing the area is secure with no worry about them getting out, which made the stay even more relaxing. The site is well maintained, thoughtfully set up, and very welcoming. The hosts checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and were just lovely warm, attentive, and respectful of our space. Coming back for a second stay really says it all. We would happily return again and highly recommend Earth Edge to anyone looking for a calm, pet-friendly, nature-based getaway

What a special experience at Susan’s place. The bath is spectacular!!!! Susan has thought of every detail. Plates, glassware, tea and coffee - it all made the glamping very glamorous! The spot was absolutely stunning views over the hills and the ocean. It happened to be quite cool and windy weather when we stayed but we felt really sheltered by the surrounding trees. The hot tub was an absolute bonus....it heated up so well and stayed hot for quite some time. Would love to come back.

My family stayed here over the cup weekend. We had a great time with the kids loving feeding the animals and fishing in the dam. The camp area was very clean with fire pit and a bin plus a water tap. The host Anneke was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and kind. With only a short drive into Daylesford the location was great. Highly recommend and we will be back.

Carla’s place was so picturesque and beautifully set up. The outdoor bath was amazing.. perfect for soaking while taking in the fresh air and views. It’s a great spot to unwind by the open fire or use as a base to explore the region, being just 10 minutes from Warrnambool. It was easy to find using Google Maps, but if you’re using Apple Maps, Carla’s directions will come in handy. Carla and her partner were friendly and great to communicate with. Highly recommend!
