The 35-acre property offers views of Quamby Bluff, and various options to explore and relax. Find yourself a nice quiet spot, where you can enjoy peace and quiet. Although we take several bookings at once, you are guaranteed a secluded nook, there is plenty of space.
There is a woodfired hot tub beside the creek, which all campers have access to. Imagine star gazing from the hot tub of an evening, or enjoying a morning soak whilst keeping your eyes peeled for the resident platypus in their natural habitat! Firewood is provided for the hot tub, as well as your individual campfires. The hot Tub is not for wild parties, but to relax and view the native wild life, quietly watch the platypus in their natural environment.
Please note, we accept one camper trailer/caravan per booking. If you are traveling in a group with multiple caravans, you will need to book multiple sites - but will still be able to camp together. The property has good access for all types of vehicles.

The Lilydale Pool is open 3-6pm in summer and is 1km and free for showers.
When you arrive with a big trailer enter through the WOODEN GATES and stay on the flat. Walk up and visit the farmhouse.

If you feel like going for a wander, you can spend hours exploring the bush and native grasslands on the property and if you're keen on climbing the hill you get rewarded with amazing views over the Great Western Tiers. Why not take your mountain bike up there and enjoy the downhill ride afterwards? Sunsets are spectacular at Stringybark and the skies phenomenal during clear nights.
Although it feels like the end of the world, surrounded by bush and wildlife, we're only 30 minutes drive from Launceston CBD, Ben Lomond National Park and Josef Chromy's winery and only a 20 minute drive from Launceston Airport, making it a perfect base to explore Launceston and surrounds.
You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in.
We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out.
Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp.
Please note, that Stringybark is a working property and we currently have some exciting building projects going on around our Tiny House and big shed. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though).
Please ALWAYS supervise children and pets, particularly in the following areas:
-bush and grass areas where snakes can be present most of the year

Black Cottage Farm is situated on a tranquil 13.5 acres of beautiful pasture that we cut hay from each year. We offer a powered site near to the main residence and a private unpowered site in our paddock which has a fantastic view, both sites require campers to have their own toilet. There's plenty of room at the unpowered site for kiddos to run.
Lilydale is predominately dairy and cattle country with several vineyards nearby including Jansz, Clover Hill and Pipers Brook to name a few. We are just a two minute drive or 20 minute walk from Lilydale township and centrally located to lots of activities and sightseeing.
Activites include hiking Mount Arthur, visiting Lilydale Falls, Hollybank Adventures for zip lining, high ropes and Segways and Derby is an hour away for all your mountain biking trails. There is also fishing, swimming and boating at Bridport. Launceston is an easy 20 minutes drive.
If you are lucky whilst here you may get to see the wedge tail eagles that call Mount Arthur home along with lots of other wild life including wallabies, possums and an abundance of bird life.
I'm a private, quiet person who works from home therefore I am around should you have any questions, but also will leave you in peace to enjoy the space privately.
Whilst pets are allowed, there are some restrictions as we have our own pet poodle here. Please see site details for more info.

The property is set nearby the Quamby Bluff Trail, a 6km moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Golden Valley, Tasmania, Australia that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round.
Please help us preserve the peace and beauty of this place. We are an alcohol and drug free community. Feel free to chat with our friendly nun if you are interested in mindfulness and to walk the property while you stay.
We have an unpowered site suitable for vans and 4wd caravans. We also have basic camping, pit toilet but no shower. We also have cabins, please ask if interested.
