Leven River Camping On Wattle Farm: Your Wilderness Escape Discover Leven River Camping at Wattle Farm, a tranquil retreat nestled on the edge of the wilderness, where the river and forest greet you at your front door. This naturally forested 100-acre property is a haven for abundant native wildlife, offering an idyllic escape into nature. When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road). The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river. For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket. Natural Surroundings & Activities: Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails. The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic. Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley. Important Information No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal. Campfires must be small and adhere to Tas Fire Service recommendations and regulations

A great base to visit the Florentine valley, Mt Field and many other nearby attractions. The tranquillity and privacy will leave you a wonderful feeling of peace. This is a wonderful place to unwind, take a swim with your dog and just hang out with the very special access to the lagoon. There are no amenities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace. One vehicle per site, only one family group per site! **Please note that it's $20 per person per night. Small farm and vineyard at Macquarie Plains in the Upper Derwent Valley, southern Tasmania. The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

This is such a great spot, it is beautiful, the host is super friendly and it’s very quiet! Our kids had a great time exploring the farm and playing with the animals, they loved it so much they’re already asking when we can go back! We have very large caravan/car rigs and had no problems with space. We definitely would recommend this spot to anyone (and already have!).

It was such a comfortable, well kept and lovely campsite. We got held up in the day so could only check in late but Doug was so great and helped us check in with ease. The toilets were the best we’ve experienced on this island. So clean and the showers were really warm it made camping so hassle free and enjoyable. A PLACE YOU MUST STAY WHEN TRAVELLING THE EAST COAST OF TASSIE

This is a fantastic campsite only 35 minute drive from cradle mountain visitors centre! The lady manning the site was wonderful, set us up with everything we needed and showed us the best place to pitch our tent! The hot shower was beautiful after a long day walking, and the small camp kitchen area was a nice place to take refuge from the cold of our tent! It had a couple plug sockets so you could change your phones or portable charger, a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and a table and chairs. There was an undercover outdoor bit too with a bench, bbq and pizza oven . The resident chicken Mrs.Chook was very sweet and friendly, she’s a vocal girl but loves pecking at your shoes bless her! Would highly recommend staying here!

What a view!!! Absolutely loved our stay. The loogoon was like a sheet of glass almost everyday. There was morning frosts and fog, but this added to the experience, and we did camp at the back of winter. The only thing I would strongly recommend is that if your towing, make sure you have a 4x4.

Our best hip camp experience so far! Beautiful well maintained property with big fire pots and green grass. Massive sites so no greedy owners here 👍 SO much fun for families with a fairy walk big playground and sand pit. Bike tracks for kids and mountain bikes. We are very impressed! We had a flat battery in our car the day we left and the owner happily jump started us 😊 Thank you Aaron and Amanda 😊

Campground is a credit to Paul. It is well laid out and maintained with plenty of flat areas for caravans, campers or tents. The toilet is clean and well set up. Cut firewood is available with an honesty box. Initially booked for two nights but extended - a very relaxing few days - had the place to ourselves. Would highly recommend. Great base for Richmond and Hobart.
