Campground has shared facilities and respect of each other and the land is critical. We are a leave no trace site, which means everything you bring in you must take with you, which includes rubbish and broken things. The bins at the entrance are for residents only and as they are only collected fortnightly cannot cater for more than those who live here. Firewood can be brought in by you or we will provide wood for $30/night per site. Wood is not to be foraged from adjoining scrub as it is Heritage listed and to be left for habitat, ecosystem and your admiration only! We look forward to crossing paths! The property is a private farm with 2 dams and views extending across the valley. There are a number of suitable locations to for bush camping. Site access is limited to dry weather and vehicles with single axle camper trailer or tent. It is recommend for vehicles with higher ground clearance. The River is the flattest of the campgrounds if you require a completely level site for your vehicle. A number of alpacas and sheep share the camp grounds. Sites suit bush camping with limited amenities. Potable water is available upon request but there are no toilets or services on site. There are a number of great wineries in the area all with excellent food and produce you can enjoy. Close to: Hahndorf - 5 min drive Stirling - 10 min drive Mount Lofty - 15 min drive Tour Down under (TDU) - passes at the end of the road several wineries Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and water and take all rubbish with them upon departure. Rocky Dale Farm

This is a campsite for those who want the best of both worlds, the serenity of the Australian Bush, but close to all the modern conveniences and holiday activities. Surrounded by the Hindmarsh Valley National Park and a working sheep farm, you’ll be sharing this campsite with the local kangaroos, and if you’re lucky, an echidna or two. There’s a creek running through, and vibrant bird life. Nearby is a beautiful bush-walk through the Mount Billy Conservation Park. Situated half way between Myponga and Victor Harbor, only 15 minutes to either, there are many activities available. Kayaking on the Myponga reservoir, or surfing, swimming and sun bathing at either Horseshoe Bay or Waitpinga. Urimbirra wildlife park is less than 10 minutes away, and around the corner is the Softfoot Alpaca Farm, with the on-site Swagman Restaurant. Also in Hindmarsh Valley is the lovely restaurant Lost Phoenix Farm. Over your stay, you will likely encounter our two dogs, Lola and Sherlock, who very much enjoy meeting our guests. Lola is particularly fond of children and loves to play fetch with them, whilst Sherlock will try charm you out of your sausages. Despite what he says, he is well fed at home. They are both good at giving high fives. If you would prefer not to see the dogs, please just let us know and we will keep them under strict supervision.

Kangaroo Island Jump Off Road

Edenvale Pastorals was originally established as a solider settlers farm, and later was purchased by the Wilmott family in 2001 and converted to regenerative cell grazing cattle farm. The farm was leased for a few years, up until the recent 2019-2020 bush fires. Since the bush fires our family has decided to move back onto the farm and start the rebuild. We will be continuing with the sustainable farming practices and want to give people the opportunity to stay and enjoy the west end. No need to bring your own tent, stay with up to three people in a suspended tent! We can also provide bedding. Should you have a group larger than three, where some people can bring their own gear, we have space for them too. We have a hot outdoor shower, and compost toilet. Pets are also welcome, however must not be in the tent, and must not harass the wildlife. The suspended tent sleeps 3 people maximum. If you have any additional people who bring their own camping gear they are welcome to book our other listing 'Jump Off Road Camp (own gear).' The surrounding paddocks are home to our cattle that pass through occasionally, and during the afternoons you have the opportunity to observe the abundant wild life that come to life, as well as a healthy bird life among the trees. On your stay you have the choice of enjoying the walks and hikes through out the De'mole river and Cape Torrens that are at your door step, go sightseeing in the national park, the De Tong Ling Stupa, Billy Goat water falls or even Western River Cove or just relax and enjoy the serenity of your suspended tree tent experience.Either way, we hope you enjoy what the west end has to offer. Flinders Chase National Park is 40km via bitumen road or 27 km via Shackle road. Keep up to date with road closures through Flinders Chase national park website. Cape Borda Light house is 23km from our farm, there are several hikes in that area such as the Ravine Des Casoars and Harveys return. Keep tabs on their website as the park is closed, however still accessible by foot from the gate. De Tong Ling Stupa is 20km from our farm and is open to the public to visit. Billy Goat waterfalls generally has water flowing through mid winter, but regardless is a beautiful easy hike that comes alive with fungus and orchids early winter and during spring. Be mindful we are 45 minutes from the closest fuel station, at Parndana, and most places close early so it would be wise to be well prepared before getting here. 15km of the road is dirt, just take it easy if you're in a 2wd, and be aware of eagles, kangaroos and wallabies. Emu Bay Hideaway, Kangaroo Island

30 hectares of peace, mainly vegetated with Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaved Mallee (Eucalyptus cneorifolia, a nationally-protected ecological community). Kangaroos and wallabies are in abundance. It has a wonderful feeling of remoteness and seclusion yet is so close to iconic Emu Bay. Those with 4WD may choose sites overlooking Shoal Bay towards Kingscote. Alternatively, you may set up camp anywhere on the property. There is even one under-cover position with a concrete floor for those concerned about the weather. There are no amenities so guests need to be 100% self-sufficient (including BYO drinking water and toilet) and leave no trace. It is a wild block and only five minutes from the iconic Emu Bay, where the white sandy beach runs for 4kms, most of which is backed by 10 to 20-meter-high dunes. It is one of the best beaches on the island with crystal-clear water. Check with me before lighting a campfire - this depends on the season and risk. Dogs are permitted if well controlled (register visiting dogs with local council). IMPORTANT: I have very limited access to the Internet, only periodically every few days, if that, therefore, I may take some time to respond to inquiries. Beltana Flinders Historic Town

We are closed for the off season but feel free to book from 1st March on we would love to see you. Located at the end of a bitumen road in the town of Beltana, the campsites are adjacent to the local hall. There are showers, toilets, a free BBQ in the community park , mobile phone coverage and potable water available We are the closest campground to the new Nilpena Ediacara National Park. Beltana is a State Heritage listed town in Adnyamathanha country. Beltana is important as it is the home of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, was influential in the establishment of the Overland Telegraph and was important is the states early settlement. Beltana has survived in spite of the challenges and has an excellent walking trail detailing this history for visitors. There is capacity to have a fire in a communal fire pit, but please bring your own wood. Dogs on leashes welcome. This campsite offers a safe and comfortable place for campers who are travelling through on their holiday and need somewhere to stop overnight, but two nights is recommended to give you a chance to visit this historic town. The town is significant is South Australian history and there is interpretative signage that provides the visitor with an informative trail. Whilst with us visit the new Nilpena Ediacara National Park. We have the closest camping facilities.

Overview

Temperate weather makes SA a year-round destination for camping and outdoor activities, but it’s busiest during the balmy summer months. Adelaide

Adelaide is South Australia’s laid-back state capital, where parklands unfurl along the River Torrens, bars and restaurants sit riverfront, and arts festivals draw crowds year-round. Once you tire of the city, hop over to nearby Kangaroo Island, go for a beachside getaway along the Fleurieu Peninsula, or plan wine tasting in the vineyards.

Wine Country

The green hills around Adelaide house some of Australia’s finest wine regions. Further north, the opal mining towns of Coober Pedy and William Creek offer a look at outback life, while Lake Eyre National Park’s pink lakes feature lakeside camping sites like no other.

Eyre Peninsula

Stretching west from Adelaide and the Yorke Peninsula, Eyre unfolds in a panorama of gold-dust sands, rocky shores, and deserted dunes. Coastal camping spots have the best views, and the sheltered waters of Coffin Bay, Venus Bay, and Streaky Bay are famous for their oysters.

Kangaroo Island

Bushlands, sand dunes, and wave-ravaged coastlines await on Kangaroo Island. Explore off-piste in a 4WD, spot wild kangaroos and koalas in the nature reserves, or walk the beach to watch fur seals and little penguins, then head back to camp for a campfire barbecue.
