It is a great spot for scenic photography, a base to explore the many hikes and climbs from in the surrounding National Parks. This site is located in the middle of the Glass House Mountains with wonderful views of Mt Coonowrin. Note: This site does not have any toilet or shower facilities so you will need to be a self-contained camper and bring your own. You can bring your own firewood from local service stations or other sources to be used in the firepit. Bring your hiking gear, your mountain bike and definitely bring your camera as the views are stellar. The craggy peaks of the Glass House Mountains tower above the surrounding landscape. They are so significant that they are listed on the Queensland and National Heritage Register as a landscape of national significance. Walking tracks lead through a variety of open forests to lookouts with panoramic views of the mountains. Some tracks are suitable for all levels of fitness and others include more challenging grades including rock scrambling skills. There are other challenging summit routes and climbing sites for experienced rockclimbers and abseilers. Or you might want to pull up a hammock and just laze the day away.

Perfect place for a family getaway. The horses were incredibly friendly and gentle, just like dogs, which was a big highlight. The views were beautiful, the breeze was lovely, and the toilets were clean and well maintained. Everything was comfortable and we truly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended for families — we would love to come back again.

1 night at Adventure Park Scenic Rim

The moment I arrived, all I could say was “wow” — the view was absolutely insane!!! Cooking and eating while looking at such a breathtaking view was truly the best part of the experience. Right after setting up the tarp, a heavy downpour started, but thanks to the beautiful scenery, everything still felt perfectly okay. It would have been an absolutely perfect place if it hadn’t rained! I came alone with my dog, but the place was far too beautiful to enjoy by myself, so I will definitely come back again with friends. Wendy was incredibly kind and very helpful with clear directions. I went to see the sunrise on New Year’s morning. It rained throughout the night, and the sun was partially hidden behind the clouds, but I still got to see the first sunrise of 2026 — it was such a happy and memorable experience.

We had such a wonderful stay at Highland Retreat. Kenny met us when we arrived and gave clear directions to our site — such a friendly and helpful welcome! The grounds were recently mowed and really well maintained, making it easy to set up and enjoy. The views were absolutely stunning — wide open and completely unobstructed. We especially loved having the horses in the paddock next to us; it added such a peaceful and country charm to the stay. We can’t wait to go back — highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quiet, scenic escape!
