Please message me prior to booking as we don't live here, to make sure that we have vacancies. Also if you are making a booking for more than five people, you'll need to do two bookings, so that we don't end up overcrowded. Thank you. Self sufficient campers are preferred. If you are looking to get away, put your feet up, switch off and recharge, then this is your perfect spot to enjoy the serenity of farm life with the added mountain views. We have potable bore water, electricity connection, picnic table and bench and firepit. We have two powered caravan sites that can also double up as tent sites. Ideally you should be self sufficient. Our bore has a solar pump that is rigged up to the water tank at the camp kitchen. Please turn the tap off once you have finished filling up your containers or caravan tanks. Bore water is potable, so can be used for cooking, cleaning, pets, etc. Any cooking implements and tools that you might need during your stay can be provided at request. Dogs are welcome, just please be mindful of our free ranging chickens, which are generally located at the top of the farm, near the big new shed. We also have baby goats that you are welcome to help us feed. Please ensure that you are mindful of our neighbours, no loud noises between 9pm and 7am and kindly clean up after yourselves and take your rubbish with you, as we don't have garbage collection at the property. Nanango has a lovely vibe. It's Queensland's oldest and friendliest town. There are great playgrounds, swimming pool and cart racing in town, which is only about 10 minutes away from the farm. Kingaroy is about half an hour away. There is a great off roading spot in the forest that is literally up the road from us. According to previous campers it's perfect for beginners. On the website a quote states, “In the late 1980’s, fossils found near Boat Mountain just outside Murgon in Southern Queensland rocked the palaeontology world. 15 new fossil species discovered here were found to be 55 million years old, predating any other Eocene period fossils found in Australia by 20 million years.” Suited to all, make a day of it and visit 55 Million Years Ago in the morning, enjoy lunch at a local winery before heading to Boat Mountain to see where they found the fossils and enjoy the sunset. We are a busy working property and horse training facility. Our business consists of backgrounding cattle, growing and irrigating of cattle feed and lucerne, as well as making hay. Our son owners and operates a horse training business on our property. Sit back and enjoy your time while knowing you are supporting a farming family!

Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in. The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type. Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you. Note: There are no ground fires permitted and at certain times of the year Qld Rural Fire brigade may enforce a total fire ban. We have our “Caffeine Injection” kiosk on-site for the weekends and school holidays. Get your morning caffeine fix as well as bagged ice, firewood, ice creams, snacks, cold drinks etc etc Then we have the old school principals residence aka “The Bush Holiday House“. It is fully self-contained and all linen is provided. Just BYO food & drinks. We offer this for one night stays and longer. Jimna is a tiny town immersed in the Australian bush; with nearby gorges, ravines, creeks and waterfalls - some wild & spectacular places to see. Bookings are all made via HIPCAMP and require pre approval so I can make sure that horses are available if you need a retreat package and to make sure that everything will be ready for your arrival. There are many things to do in Blackbutt as well as spending some time at The Croft. Every 3rd Sunday is our market day, the renowned Blackbutt Bakery is always at your disposal and a great pub for a pub grub night. If you are a rider and have your own horse, there is also a great dressage instructor in Blackbutt – Yarralee Dressage Development – who you can book lessons with during your stay. If you are wanting more western discipline work, I can provide you with some basic instruction on patterns and ranch trail tips. The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage. I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area.

Hopevale Adventure Camping

The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal. “We have been blessed beyond measure with a small slice of God’s wonderful creation that we would love to share with you.”

Bunya Farm Produce is open on Saturday mornings for a taste of the best offerings around and Amamoor markets greet the steam train every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday morning. There are many farm-gate suppliers in the region for you try our fresh produce. Kybong has "Hell Town Hotrods" as you imagine, this place is an Alladin's Cave for those into anything vintage, retro, car or petrol.... complete with a workshop for custom hotrod rebuilds. There is a neat cafe and bar on site too. Gympie is close by with the Heritage Museum, featuring the history of gold mining and industries of the area. You can learn how to pan for gold there then come back and practice in the creek. Art enthusiasts should drop in for morning tea at Chai Chai, and see what’s on exhibition at The ART POST then Gympie Region Art Gallery - both venues offer high quality exhibits and sale of artworks by our local artists. SoMa SoMa is where to go for awesome breakfast, brunches or lunches with delicious coffee, shakes and fresh juices also, open from 6:30am 7 days a week. Our property is located on the site of the First Kilkivan Township and was home to a gold rush in 1868 where a 73 oz nugget was discovered. Guests will have access to a portable toilet and fire pit throughout their stay. Gold is still found in and around the creek with fossicking permitted at an extra daily rate of $25 per person. As this is private property we require that all the QLD Fossicking Act rules and regulations are followed this includes having your own permit which must be supplied before fossicking is permitted. These rules include no machinery or pump operated sluices such as high banking sluices. Detectors are welcome and some great finds have been found with them including gold and coins from the 1860’s. Large groups are welcome. There are many great shaded camping spots along the creek or a large open area of about 50 acres for larger groups. Deep Dime is a 400 acre cattle, fodder and irrigated grain farm. Our primary crop is Lucerne for hay. Creekside Camp (our main camping area) is relatively flat, well drained sites along a creek that usually runs. At Le Jackz you come to relax and unwind and allow nature to be your therapist.The property is located near Maclagan, a small town situated at the foothills of Bunya Mountains National Park. The majestic Bunya Mountains were formed 30 million years ago and thought to be the remains of an old volcano. The national park features both wet and dry rainforests, grasslands and open bush supporting a diverse range of plant and animal species. From December to March, Bunya pine trees drop cones containing edible seeds known as Bunya nuts. For those keen to do a bit of site-seeing, there is an abundance of nature walks, cycling, historical tours in Toowoomba and Dalby. NOTE: dry weather access only. We have very secluded, off the grid bush camping, with direct access your own style of bush camping. You choose where your site is, first in, first served basis. Each campsite needs to be a minimum of 20m from the next campsite unless otherwise agreed. All bush walking, bike riding, kayaking or 4WD access to the public owned Emu Creek, and access is up to the individual camper as this is a public road. Internally on the private property is 20 acres of semi-cleared land (we suggest you may want a grass clearing device , and may camp near any of the 3 dams on the road front of the property. The main camp area has a covered area or Rustic Bush Cabin by the dam, with a graded flat for camper trailers of RV's. The dams are large enough for the children to Kayak, walk through and swim. Enjoy the natural, peace and quiet, subject to local fire restictions, enjoy the night by the fire, and am amazing star gazing, camping "ROUGH" on top very TOP of one small part of the Great Diving Range, hundreds of meters above ground level. 20 minutes drive from Blackbutt. Always call the manager Rick, direct on 0402 998 961, for a personal clarification of booking and your responsibilities as a camper. Fires should be kept to a sensible size and contained within a pit provided by the camper or using bush rocks or bricks. Campers should provide or collect your own wood and please be respectful of how much is collected and used from the property. You are responsible for your animal at all times, please take into account other campers and surrounding properties who have dogs. If your dog is a wanderer or disobedient then we suggest keeping on leash at all times. If you are comfortable you may have limited off-leash time. Again, make a judgement call based on the situation and remember that you are responsible at all times.
