A property with amazing river access and a history of decent fishing and gold panning. The steep terrain adjacent the river lends itself to some fantastic hiking and mountain bike riding to the peaks that display amazing views to the north and east. With a small number of sites on the property you're sure to feel like the only ones in the world. Currently access is 4WD recommended. Some AWD and rear wheel drive vehicles are fine. Even-Camp

29 sites · RVs, Tents251 acres · Thanes Creek, QLD
9 sites on 251 acres. We have just opened our property for totally off grid rustic camping – you must be self-sufficient. No toilets, no showers, no potable water and no cooking facilities provided. Maximum stay 14 days. This property runs cattle and two horses, we also seem to accommodate neighbours goats when they escape their own property. We have an abundance of birdlife, a few hares and the occasional mob of kangaroos like to thunder through the property at dawn and dusk. Free firewood can be collected around the campsites and firepits are provided. Campfires are subject to authority fire bans. Campsites are large enough to accommodate 2 or 3 vans, some more. Day visitors must book through Hipcamp for insurance reasons. Campsites are slashed areas not immaculately manicured lawns. Most campsites are fairly level but may need some leveling using ramps. We have 7 dams in total on the property and some are suitable for water play and swimming however you will note from the pictures the dams are muddy and they are very deep. The cattle drink from 5 of the 7 dams. No motorbikes allowed however bicycles are allowed on the tracks. Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash at all times for their safety and the safety of the other residents on the property both human and animal. Gold prospecting/fossicking is allowed subject to rules that will be provided if you choose this as an extra option – additional fees apply. No motorised tools allowed other than metal detectors. See EXTRA'S when booking. Please note you need to hold a current fossicking licence issued from the Department of Mines and Resources. You can obtain a licence via https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/activities/areas-facilities/fossicking/licences-permits/purchase - copy and paste this URL into your browser to apply for a licence. Most of the property is 2 wheel drive accessible – weather permitting. You must bring your own water and toilet – no digging a hole to bury waste of any kind. A list of Council dump points in the area will be provided.

Stonepine Ridge 'where eagles fly'

40 sites · RVs, Tents2000 acres · Willsons Downfall, NSW
Space, scenic views, a series of mountain bike tracks to test your skills, abundant wildlife, peace and quiet. Mountain biking only? Book a campsite for the day. These best describe this 754 hectare (1864 acres) property. Stonepine Ridge is 'remote' - your camp sites are away from any dwellings - but you are still close enough to country towns across borders. Map to get here ( https://stonepineridge.com.au/map/ ) There is plenty of space for social distancing. Most camp sites are 50 or more metres apart. The terrain is mostly treed with some cleared, pastured country. On the border with the Queensland town of Stanthorpe, Stonepine Ridge is close to the historic areas of Willsons Downfall and Amosfield in New South Wales. Home to many rivers that traverse the property from top to bottom, the Boonoo Boonoo and Bookookookarara rivers and Undercliffe and Boonoo Boono Falls are close by and are popular sites to spend a few hours walking/hiking and immersing yourself in the ambient countryside. The Boonoo Boonoo and Bald rock National Parks are also within this area. The beautiful New England town of Tenterfield is about 20 minutes drive from the falls and offers visitors many shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to stop en route to visit the World War 2 tank traps - (Australia's Maginot Line) and Thunderbolt's hideout. A short drive across the border into Queensland will give you access to the Girraween National Park and a host of wineries, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. This camping property is large and you will find no better place that allows for gentle as well as more advanced walking, hiking and mountain biking. The altitude on the property varies from 900m at the top down to 50m to the bottom. The temperature is variable with mostly cool nights, which makes for restful sleep and a nice fire to add to the ambience.

Binghi Station

27 sites · RVs, Tents4000 acres · NSW
Binghi Station Located approximately 4.5hours from Brisbane, Queensland, or 1.5 hour drive west of Tenterfield, New South Wales. Binghi Station, once a large sheep station, was a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800 to mid 1900. Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty. Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s. You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. We strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is rugged and very bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. The Secret Gorge site is suited to swags, tents and camper trailers. It is not suited for Caravans over 15' due to a tight corner. Other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)

Ruby Rest

30 sites · RVs, Tents320 acres · Ruby Creek, NSW
Ruby Rest is a working horse stud and farm supply store. We are technically in NSW with our boundary fence being the QLD border. The property is located just 5 mins from the town of Stanthorpe known for its chilly temperatures, apple orchards and wineries. We are a family owned and run operation and are happy to share our little piece of granite belt beauty with happy campers. There is just the one toilet and two showers so patience and consideration is required, especially on busy weekends.
