Hi campers, Nestled among the hills on Old Man Gunyah Creek, this 1400 acre property is owned &and run by John & Jen. It's a sheep farm running 1600 sheep producing fine wool and fat lambs. Plenty of room to move, walk the hills, catch a fish, or just sit by the camp fire & watch the stars. Bring your motor home, caravan, camper, tent or swag, the choice is yours. The shearing shed has a fully equipped kitchen & plenty of fresh rain water. You are welcome to roll out your swag in the shearing shed if you prefer. Controlled dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash at all times. There is no mobile service or Wi-Fi. We are 50 kms from a corner store/service station, so don't leave yourselves short. There are toilets scattered around the property, but no shower available.

Firewood - please bring your own, we do not have firewood or fallen branches from trees. "Wombles Common" has a permanent fire pit area, all other sites require transportable fire pits (provided or bring your own). Please do not leave burn scars on the ground and please take your ashes with you or dump them in the "Wombles Common" fire pit area. River - the river is excellent for fun canoeing adventures. Entering the river is at your own risk. Fishing - great fishing in the river. We love the Red Fin! Pets - pets are welcome but need to be controlled. The safety and comfort of the resident sheep, our neighbours and other campers are a priority. Please don't not allow your pets to disturb (including barking, wandering or chasing sheep) the peace of those around them. We have a 55 acre property at the foot of the Dananbilla Range, a working farm with coloured Miniature Sheep, also pattable Galloway Cattle and calfs and Miniature and normal sized horses, donkeys, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks and LOTS of Miniature Goats all very friendly. Around 200 handraised and tame animals and 200 birds. We are the largest and oldest Miniature Goat Stud in NSW.....all year round we have baby goats, turkeys, horses, cows, sheep...all hand raised and friendly. We often have babies on bottles and goats to milk and generally, the farm is a wonderful place to be for those who love animals. The State Forest that surrounds our farm is a wonderful experience for bushwalking and the views are outstanding with spectacular sunrises and sunsets to admire. 'La Paloma' is a farm located 15 minutes from the township of Cowra and Wyangala Dam. La Paloma boasts spectacular views down the valley and of surrounding granite hills. We offer powered and unpowered camping and a glamping tent. Take a walk up the hill to take in the gorgeous scenery and watch the breath-taking sunrises and sunsets! There is lots of native bird life to see here, with Superb Parrots, Blue Wrens, Cockatoos, Rosellas, Wedge Tail Eagles and of course, Doves (hence the property name, La Paloma).Wake up to see the mob of kangaroos bounding up the hill. Make sure to pop over to Wyangala Dam (14 min) for a fish or take part in some watersports. Or even head down the road to Elliotts Lookout over the Dam for some incredible views! We can even provide under cover boat storage if you want to bring your boat with you for some fun on the lake! In spring, enjoy the beautiful blossoming fruit trees. You can even visit Sakura Matsuri, the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival in Cowra late September! Year round, enjoy the tranquillity and landscapes of the Japanese Gardens and Cultural Centre in Cowra (14 min). The gardens act as a monument of peace and reconciliation between two countries after the largest Prisoner Of War breakout in modern military history. Cowra's rich history can be explored at the Cowra POW Campsite and various other historical sites around town. Make sure to end your night around a great campfire! You can have campfires in your own contained fire pits and sometimes we have complimentary firewood in a wood shed close by. Roast some marshmallows and take in the starry night sky. Property has a gorgeous stand-alone bathroom building with 2 toilets, a hot water shower and sink. Please keep this clean and tidy. There are cleaning products under the sink as we cannot always be there to keep it clean. There is also an undercover table and basic camp kitchen set up for use in the shearing shed. Please take all rubbish with you. Pick a camp site in the middle aisle around the sheds, bathroom block and driveway OR in any open paddock (granite pad sites on hill are their own sites). Note the ground off the driveway and parking pads can get very wet and boggy so to avoid getting bogged please try to stick to the driveway as much as possible.

Stay on our 2 acre block on the edge of a small village in the southern tablelands of NSW. We are conveniently close to the Hume Highway, with a level grassed site with scattered gum trees providing shade. Travellers between Melbourne and Sydney can easily pull in off the highway for a quick set up for the night, then be back on the road the next morning. Alternatively, our site is an excellent base to stay for a few days while you explore Canberra and surrounds, as it is an hour to the Nation’s capital. Sure, we can hear the highway and occasional trains as they go past on the main line but there are also plenty of bird calls and some neighbouring wallabies. There is a small creek on the boundary of the camping block that attracts birds but is not suitable for swimming. We have town water available for campers and toilet facilities are a short 400m walk to the middle of the village. The nearest dump point is 15 minutes away in the town of Yass. Winters are excellent for small fires for cooking and then putting another log on to enjoy the rest of the evening under the stars. We have dedicated fire pits or you can use your own. As an added bonus, there are metal sculptures dotted around the block created by the host. Each site is spacious enough for up to 4 vans if you are travelling in a group. It is easy to navigate through the trees and use it as a drive through.

I can't recommend this site enough! we stayed at site 11 and it was perfect. Absolutely no one in sight and a huge area to set everything up. There were also bins and a porta-loo nearby which was great. Being near the creek was perfect for the dogs who liked a quick dip now and again to cool off. There were also some great little walks to explore and we saw all sorts of wildlife including kangaroos which made our trip! Another plus was the amazing skies on an evening..sooo many stars to sit and look at! And the best bit, absolute silence the whole time. We'll definitely be back!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. It’s a quiet and beautiful spot right next to the creek, perfect for relaxing. The flush toilets were a big plus, and everything was well looked after. The hosts, John & Jen, were lovely and very welcoming. Highly recommended for a peaceful camping experience.
