The suburb has plenty to do and explore: - Surfing - Fishing - Snorkelling - Boat ramps to beach and lagoons - Bush walks through the National Park - Diving - bike paths It has a general store and 2 great cafes open in peak times and weekends, an IGA, a bakery, a liquor store and a newsagent. Its 30mins from both Ulladulla and Batemans Bay, in the middle. These are the closest large towns for supplies, and repairs for caravans and cars.

Please note campsites are non powered (Caravans and RV's welcome for unpowered visits in off peak times) It is a 10 min drive from Nelligen town centre and a 20 min drive from Batemans Bay. If you need supplies you can also travel by boat into Batemans Bay and tie up to many of its wharfs for that different experience. The camping area is surrounded by walking tracks and over the Christmas period the renowned Clyde Berry Farm is open where you can pick your own fresh berries or relax on the grounds for a ice-cream. You will find Shallow Crossing is also just a 10 min drive up the River Road for an exhilarating swim in fresh mountain water. The traditional water side camp kitchen offers a BBQ and table to eat. Visit Tathra, but stay at Kangarutha, only 2km from the edge of town, and enjoy space, privacy and tranquillity. We intentionally only have a limited number of campsites on our large property, so that you can enjoy camping in a natural setting away from the crowd. Our stunning property is comprised of open paddock areas surrounded by large areas of native forests, and we border national park. Enjoy the forest trails here on the property, which take you on a tour to our peaceful back dam. Or explore further afield - our place links to both the Tathra-Kalaru bike track and the Bournda National Park, where you can access the Tathra Mountain Bike Trail Network, as well as the secluded coves along the Kangarutha Walking Track. Our property was home to the former and well-loved businesses 'Kangarutha Nursery', and 'On the Perch Bird Park'. We have been busy re-imagining these spaces. We have drinking water, flushing accessible toilets and one hot shower a short walk from the campsites. Our property is dog friendly for well behaved dogs that don't chase wildlife or the horses on our property. No hunting dogs. Campfires permitted when there are no restrictions. You can gather your own wood, or we can prepare wood for you.

Enjoy an evening around the campfire - firewood is available for camp sites and we have a honesty self serve system.
